Drunken Shrimp

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2014
The cooking time was too long. I refuse to overcook shrimp so I stopped when the shrimp was done but "sauce" was super watery and nothing stuck to the shrimp. I removed the shrimp and I am going to boil the sauce down on its own and pour it over the shrimp.

Very delicious! but I removed my cookies at 8 minutes because a minute longer and they would have burned. Dont make it with shortening! yuck

Supreme Strawberry Topping

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2013
A great base recipe for making strawberry topping/sauce. I will play with it a little more depending on how I want to use it. making the recipe as directed makes it look like runny strawberry jam/jelly/preserves in my opinion. I suggest for a topping cook only half of the pint of strawberries.. add 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch while cooking... puree all of the cooked. cut the remaining fresh strawberries in half (or quarters if very large). pour pureed cooked over fresh. I personally don't feel you need the vanilla or any extracts.

Easy Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2012
Easy and delicious! I used raw sugar instead of white sugar. i also used canned peaches in heavy syrup and i sprinkled brown sugar over the peaches as needed instead using the 1/4 cup of white sugar.

Pancit

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2012
I took the advice of the Pancit Vets on here and mine came out goopy. the flavor however isnt bad but im going to use low sodium soy and reduce the liquid next time because it was salty.

Fish Roll-Ups

Reviewed: May 9, 2010
Ok my husband made this dish for me for mothers day and since he has no idea how to cook this recipe is really bad for beginners. it asked for butter twice but didnt specify which amount at what point and left him confused and I having to step in to help! which kinda defeats the point of being cooked for! lol but it was surprisely a delish dish but if you are a person that loves bold flavor or a lot of flavor season the fish itself to taste. I used tilapia because its juicy but not fatty with a mild flavor which is best for someone that isnt big on fish like my husband and I. I give the dish 3 stars because it was delish even if you just stick to the recipe exact and I could really use this to entertain or a happy reoccurance on our dinner table. the reason it did not get 5 stars is because its not beginner friendly.

Shrimp with Spicy Tomato Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
This come out surprisingly yummy! I needed a quick dinner and this was a life saver. i used extra seasonings that i like and seasoned to my taste. i used a chunky pasta sauce because i had no tomatos. i also used cumin instead of red pepper so i can have the kick without the fire. just wasn't in the mood for a really spicy dish. My finished product was a 5 star dish but with all the changes to this basic recipe it was more of a guide or idea for dinner and i took it from there i have to give it a 3 for being a great guide.

Stuffed Shells I

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
I have made this recipe twice first time i made it just about exactly as it says with tips from the helpful reviews like adding ricotta cheese using small curd cottage using fresh herbs and upping the seasoning. well the second time i elimated the cottage cheese all together and upped the parm and moz cheese and used about 2 cups of ricotta seasoned with garlic salt and pepper garlic powder onion powder fresh basial and italian seasoning to taste. no premeasurements just by taste. i seasoned my pasta sauce when its out the jar. i use NO SALT when seasoning the sauce because i salted the cheese mixer. i want it bursting with flavor not salt. i used garlic powder and pepper with some cumin to add a nice smokey kick without the fire. i under cooked my shells just a bit so they wouldnt fall apart while i stuffed using a ziplock bag. used lots of sauce to cover the shells completely and finish them in the oven. i topped it with moz and parm cheese and italian seasoning baked until melted and bubbling about 25- 30 minutes uncovered. came out great with the right balance of flavor. big family hit!
