Bill's Seasoned Ketchup

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2012
I just added the spices to a nearly full bottle of ketchup and SHOOK well. No wastage or clean up. It worked for me. Used a skewer to mix in the seasonings a little at a time.

Microwave Oven Peanut Brittle

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2011
This is a first rate recipe. It brought back memories of growing up in England. Us children and Mum would have approved of the speedy method.

Warm Mushroom Spread

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
AS suggested I chopped the mushrooms small and made it ahead to allow the flavours to meld. However, I needed to add cornstarch to thicken the sauce before serving it as a dip.

Devil Crab Cream Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
It would be 5 stars if my attempt at this recipe had the consistency of a normal cheese ball. However, after a day in the 'frige' wrapped up in plastic "ball" it did not really stay as such. My guests liked it and used as a thick spread.

Simple Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
A first rate recipe.I added chick peas (personal preference) and didn't mash the kidney beans. It stretched a pound of turkey a long way.

Pleasing Potato Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
A pleasant pie, ideal luncheon fare. As one guest is vegetarian I omitted the ham and added a little extra cheese. The next time I make this pie I will put the dish lower in the oven in the hopes of crisping up the bottom crust. My original one was some what soggy.

Green Tomato Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
Thank you, thank you, thank you for making it possible to use up an abundance of green tomatoes. The cake is first rate.Followed the instructions to the letter. The only deviation I made was to put the batter into two 9x5 loaf pans. One to eat, the other to freeze.

Lemon Horseradish New Potatoes

Twice-Baked Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
My mashed were hot when put into bake. They dried out a little. In future I will just serve the mashed potato with half the cheese plus the other ingredients, and forgo the baking.I used the bacon fat when whipping the potatoes, maybe that contributed to the dryness, otherwise followed recipe as written.

Peach Cobbler Dump Cake I

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2009
DO NOT do what I did. In the name of speed I did as some had suggested and poured the melted butter over the cake mix.The butter was HOT and immediately turned the mixture into one large clump. I spent 15 minutes unclumping it until it resembled crumbs. The end result was peach crumble. I used a butter pecan cake mix, which went well with the fresh peaches. Alls well that ends well.

Tamra's Microwave Tilapia

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2009
Tilapia is a fish that is not a staple in our household. This recipe worked perfectly in the micro wave oven as written. The only changes made were Herbs de Provence for the tarragon and rice vinegar for the apple cider vinegar, using half the amount of each.

No-Fuss Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2009
This is a winner. I halved the recipe and micro- waved it at half power until the juices ran clear. I didn't have time to oven bake it, and did't want to heat up the kitchen on a hot day. I omitted the ketchup, and served it with Madi's Mushrooms on top...terrific!.

Madi's Mushrooms

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2009
Very easy tasty way to serve mushrooms. I added a little more Thai sauce because I like extra heat, more than acceptable with out it.

Plum Custard Kuchen

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2009
Where did I go wrong?. The base was like a bread pudding. May be the yellow plums were too ripe and juicy. I doubled the custard as suggested. I increased the cooking time a little. Over all quite a good dessert, although different from what I expected.
