I fly the world as a flight attendant which in turn leaves me little time at home to enjoy the kitchen. When I do get into the kitchen with spare time I tend to drag out the cooking process! I have a killer recipe for meatloaf that I don't share but will one day, once I write it down.
My favorite things to cook
Meatloaf, hummus, vegetarian foods and the occasional cuban dinner. I have a great friend here in Seattle that has a wonderful garden full of everything! We made apple pie from scratch and it got me to thinking..."How far back can I go to make my food from scratch?" Next year I will try to grow my own wheat so I can mill my own flour! Tricky here in Western Washington, but I will try.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Moms meatloaf! (tweaked it to make it my own)
My cooking triumphs
1997 Thanksgiving dinner in Flagler Beach! On my own (and by on my own I mean with some minor help from Mom), I prepared the entire meal from scratch for what turned out to be 11 people!
And this new ketchup recipe is driving me into bliss!
My cooking tragedies
runny quiche and often times tasteless foods due to being in such a rush to pack my bags and get food ready for trips.
