Turned out great, I used Grannysmith apples and a little more sugar(1/4 cup). Instead of finely chopping I used my kitchen aid food grinder with the Coarse grinding plate. I started with the "Fine grinding plate" and it was messy, the apple chunks got stuck and it held back the juice. I read recipes on other sites so I had an idea of what apples to use. Grannysmith was not my first choice but my store has a limited rotating selection. Do a search on baking apples and you should be good. Also I cut the cinnamon in half because I don't care for things that have a strong cinnamon flavor. If you know you don't like something don't use it or use less. I think I may try this with some allspice next time.
