About this Cook
I love cooking for my husband and family. To see them enjoying a meal i made gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling. I am an avid reader of romance, thrillers, and fiction books. I listen to music every day, my preferences are j-pop and k-pop. I'm not good at creating my own recipes, but can tweak when I need to. I also make a mean cookie. (Or so i've been told) :D
My favorite things to cook
I LOVE cake, so i make it frequently. I love to make japanese food, and just got into making mexican dishes. My favorite japanese dish to make is Katsudon Tonkatsu. I enjoy making simple dishes, but also like a good challenge to push me a bit.
My cooking triumphs
I was in the french club in high school and we had a holiday party. I offered to make a cake. I made a bouche de noel and it came out horribly the first time. I had just started baking then and didn't know what stiff egg whites were, so my cake was a flat dense mess. I tried again the next year, and it came out great! I had never felt so proud.
My cooking tragedies
My first bouche de noel, and a chicken soup i had made from scratch for my husband. It tasted awful! I still don't know what went wrong.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins
I made this without the topping since I don't like it on muffins, and they came out pretty tasty. I cut back the sugar to 1/2 cup, added mashed bananas, mixed some orange zest and juice with the blueberries, then sprinkled the tops with sugar before baking. Will definitely make again with different variations.

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup
This was really tasty! The only change I made was adding some sauteed onions, celery and carrots. Will definitely make again. Delish!

Campbell's Kitchen Chicken Broccoli Divan
This was delish! I only gave 4 stars since I changed the recipe a bit. Instead of boiling the chicken, I sauteed it in olive oil with onions and garlic. Also blanched and seasoned the broccoli (hubby doesn't like crunchy veggies). I put the chicken and broccoli in the pan first, put in some leftover white rice, and seasoned with pepper and a touch of salt. I thought 1 can of soup would be too dry, so i used 2 and upped the milk to 2/3 cup. I put on the cheese, then topped with panko bread crumbs (enough to cover the pan) and drizzled with butter. It was a huge success! The panko made the top super crunchy and delicious. Next time I will add a bit more cheese on top and mix the filling together, since the soup didn't reach the bottom in some spots. Definitely making this again!
