Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2014
I cooked this in a square Pyrex bowl and reduced the sugar to 1/4 cup since i prefer my cornbread less sweet. Any extra butter on the sides of the bread, I brushed over the top when it was done. Delicious!

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2014
Eh. This was okay but not nearly as good as I had hoped given all the rave reviews. The outer dark leaves were delicious and oddly reminiscent of roasted pumpkin seeds, but the insides were just not very good. Maybe next time I'll try cutting them into halves or quarters so more of the sprout can get seasoned and browned.

Hot German Potato Salad III

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2014
Delicious! I cut the potatoes into chunks rather than slices since that's what I prefer and then boiled them for 15 minutes. I also added some chopped parsley at the end and let it sit and absorb the sauce for about 30 minutes as recommended by other reviewers. I will be making this again!

Chris's Incredible Italian Turkey Meatloaf

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2014
Very good! Even my picky eater said she liked this better than my regular beef meatloaf recipe. I made this pretty much according to directions except the sausage was pork sausage since that's all I had and I did reduce the milk a bit. Very tasty, good texture, and no trouble with it falling apart. I did skip the glaze because we prefer brown gravy for our meatloaf. I will be making this again. Thanks!

Proper English Cottage Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2013
So good! I mixed the peas in with the meat before adding the mashed potatoes and used ketchup since I was out of tomato paste. Hands down the best cottage pie recipe I've tried. Even my picky eater loved it!

Fresh Semolina and Egg Pasta

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2013
Awesome recipe! My daughter and I made pasta for the the first time yesterday and used this recipe. It was super easy to make and tasted great. I did have to add a little bit of extra oil and water to make the dough stick together but otherwise, it was perfect as is. Can't wait to experiment with other herbs and veggies. Thanks!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2013
Delicious! I doubled the gravy and added some poultry seasoning, garlic powder and onion powder. I also added some chopped garlic clove to the onions and mixed some sliced mushrooms in with the veggies because I like the taste of them. Otherwise, I followed it exactly as written and it was awesome! I've been looking for a pot pie recipe that didn't used condensed soup. Thank you! I will definitely be making this again.

Chef John's White Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2013
Thank you so much! I had a basic recipe for white sauce and lost it and couldn't find a good one to replace it. This was exactly what I was looking for. I did add some chopped onion and garlic to the butter and skipped the cayenne since I don't care much for spicy hot food. It turned out perfectly. I can't wait to experiment with other added ingredients and can see several possibilities!

Perfect Pita Chips

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2013
Excellent! I did not use the garlic salt as I am on a low sodium diet. Otherwise, I followed it as written. I love this recipe because it has so many other possibilities in terms of spice combinations. Can't wait to try more! Thanks Tarryn! :)

Disney's Ratatouille

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2013
This was amazing! Even my super picky eater who wouldn't normally touch most of these veggies loved ti. She ate 4 servings and asked me to make it again and often. I did use Parmesan instead of Marscapone because it's what I had on hand and it was delicious. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. It's a keeper!

Creamy Potato Leek Soup II

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2013
Delicious! I used only one leek (plus a chopped yellow onion) and half and half rather than heavy cream because it was what I had on hand but it still turned out wonderfully. I did add thyme, nutmeg, salt and freshly ground pepper to taste, and then pureed it with an immersion blender because I like that texture. Thank for a great recipe. I can see this having many different flavor combinations and ingredient variations!

Corn Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2012
Exactly what I was looking for. I couldn't find my old recipe so I was looking for something similar and this was perfect. I did reduce the sugar to 1/4 cup because I prefer my cornbread less sweet and found they needed a bit more time in the oven. I guess my oven is a bit cooler than the original poster's oven. Other than that, I followed the recipe as written and they turned out great. Thanks!

Flaky Food Processor Pie Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2012
Turned out wonderfully even thought I initially thought I had added too much water. So much easier and faster than doing it with a pastry cutter! I will definitely be using this recipe again.

Spaghetti Squash Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
Delicious! Even my picky eater loved it and asked me to make it again. I took the advice of other posters and added garlic and spinach and used nutmeg instead of basil. Filling but not heavy. I will be adding this to my weekly rotation. Thanks for the recipe!

Excellent and super easy base with endless possibilities. I added onion, garlic, baby peas, salt, and pepper after the milk. Tossed the pasta with the sauce and sprinkled in some pine nuts. Delicious!

Honey Curried Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2010
This was delicious! I did cut the curry back a bit to suit the tastes of my family and I used it with pork instead of chicken since that's what I had thawed and ready to go. I will be making this again. Thanks for sharing!

Delicious! I used some leftover White Zin and marinated boneless breasts for about 8 hours, then cooked them on the Forman Grill. I will definitely be making this again! Thanks for posting it!

Fried Chicken with Creamy Gravy

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2009
I didn't make the gravy, but followed the flour mixture measurements exactly. I used boneless chicken breasts since that's what I had on hand. After I shook them in the flour mixture, I dipped them back in the egg and then into seasoned breadcrumbs. I baked them at 400 for 25 minutes, since we're trying to cut down our fat intake, and they were fabulous! Not as crunchy as fried, but still very good. Even my super picky daughter who hates chicken liked them. Thanks for a great recipe. I can't wait to try them with the cream sauce next time!
