Grama's Corn Flake Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: May 1, 2011
Simple and quick - the perfect go to recipe when you need a little treat! I also make these with 1/2 cup butterscotch chips & 1/2 cup peanut butter melted together and 3 cups of corn flakes.

Almond Shortbread II

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2012
Lovely cookies! I have made these a couple of times. They would be perfect with afternoon tea but do well all on their own too. Just the right amount of nuttyness, nice texture and just a little addicting!! They taste even better after sitting a day or two and freeze wonderfully. Definitely a recipe worth keeping.

The Whole Jar of Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2011
There are not words to describe the taste, texture and addictiveness of these marvelous little morsels of delight! Truly the best peanut butter cookies ever! Really good with chocolate chips too but do very well on their own just as the recipe is written. I will try crunchy peanut butter next time just for variety. These will become an all time favourite very quickly.

Creamy Frosting

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2009
This recipe likely has potential but DOES NOT work unless you use specific ingredients such as listed by another reviewer - BUTTER not margarine, WHOLE MILK, make a PASTE rather than just thickened milk. A lot of extra steps are needed to make this recipe good.

Energy Balls

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2013
The kids and their friends did not care for this at all. All the adults who tried them liked them...especially after finding out they were healthy! I subbed almond butter for peanut butter so I could send them to school. Left out wheat germ because I thought they were dry enough. Much better after sitting 24 hours and the best after 4-5 days. I made balls the first time. Second time I rolled it out between two pieces of plastic wrap and used a heart shaped cookie cutter for Valentine's Day.

Big-Batch Butterscotch Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2009
AmAzInG! I made half the batch and added butterscotch chip as suggested by other reviewers. I baked them just less than 10min to keep them chewy. A very nice change from chocolate chip but just as easy and simple. I will be making them again - Next time I will try Reese's Pieces or peanut butter chips. Yum!

Creamy Turnip With Paprika Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
A great soup if you like the taste of turnips. A lot of work but a delicious soup in the end. Much better if you use half and half rather than milk.

QUICK AND EASY LEMON LOAF

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2013
Delightful, simple and light. This loaf was perfection to the taste buds! I added the zest of one lemon and approximately 1/4 of the juice from one lemon in the batter itself. I also used 1/4 cup shortening and 1/4 cup butter. It baked up beautifully and sliced like a dream. This will be made again in our house. Thank you. ****Update: I added about 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries. I coated them in flour and added at the very last, folding them in gently. This was an excellent addition.

Homemade Fresh Cheese

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2013
Very neat experience! I halved the recipe. From 8 cups of 1% milk I got 1 cup of cheese after squeezing it in the cloth. It is bland but a good base to add whatever flavours or spices. I will be making this again. Thank you.

Romance-in-a-Bowl Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2013
A nice fresh combination of flavours to liven up a typical green salad. Not so sure how 'romantic' it is but a nice version of a salad.

Apple Cinnamon White Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2014
Excellent cake, moist and very easy to put together. I made it twice - once exactly as written and the second time I doubled the recipe and made it in a 9x13. Both times it took closer to an hour to bake but well worth the wait. Will be making it again. :)

Buttermilk Pound Cake II

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2014
Excellent in every way. Easy to follow instructions properly indicate how to put this cake together. It's moist and flavourful on it's own or would make a great base for many other desserts. Easy to customize this cake to your own liking too.

Thai Quivering Tenderloins

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2013
As other reviewers suggested I marinated the pork for 24 hours. The meat was incredibly tender and delicious. Not a strong flavour from the marinade alone but quite pleasant. We did not care for the sauce. Will most certainly make this again. Thank you.

Italian Love Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2013
Taste and texture was just okay. I made mine in a metal 9x13. Baked for 75 minutes. The topping was pretty yummy. I did not spread it over the cake but placed a nice sized dollap on each piece as I served it. Since the taste was somewhat bland and the over all effect was just okay I would not make this cake again simply because of the cost of the ingredients. Far too expensive ingredients for a mediocre dessert. The topping I will make again.
