Creamy Whipped Frosting

The only thing I did different was use Powdered Sugar instead of white sugar. It came out just like the whipped cream frosting I've had from bakeries. I WILL suggest the following: make sure you use butter and not margarine or spread. Also, really beat it well. It takes awhile for the evap milk to start setting.

French Fried Potatoes

Really made a difference! I dissolved the sugar in about two TBS of warm water, then filled it the rest of the way with cold water. They really used less oil! I was very pleasantly suprised.

Sour Cream Chocolate Frosting

I made it to frost a chocolate swirl cake for my son's third birthday. It was a huge hit! It's very rich, and makes the cake go further than an odinary frosting. I got rave reviews from everyone there! Thanks for the great recipe.

Meat and Potatoes Lumpia

It can not be called "lumpia" unless you actually use lumpia wrappers. Lumpia wrappers are incredibly thin, and turn out very crispy. Egg roll wrappers are MUCH thicker, and have a completely different taste. My advice for anyone making this recipe is to go to your local asian food market, and buy "lumpia wrappers." You will NOT be upset about it. THey are cheap and delicious!

Devil's Food Peanut Butter Chip Cookies

These cookies had a great consistency. I did add about 1/2 teaspoon of salt to give them some taste, but otherwise they were much better than I expected them to be.

David's Yellow Cake

This is a heavenly cake! It's light, yet moist. My family and I have, recently, decided to take trans fats from our diet; which means no more cake mix! I was scared to make a cake from scratch, but this one "takes the cake." LOL! I highly recommend using cake flour, though.

Pumpkin Cake I

I really like this one! I actually used another recipe on this site called Mrs. Sigg's Fresh Pumpkin Pie to make the pumpkin filling, and then I topped it with the cake mix according to this recipe. I had fresh pumpkin and didn't know how to use it! It turned out more delicious than words can describe!

Mrs. Sigg's Fresh Pumpkin Pie

OH my gosh!!! This is fantastic. My two little kids and I just finished off one in a half pies! My daughter had four pieces! WE love pumpkin pie in this house, but this homemade stuff is awesome! And I used jack o lantern pumpkin, so I was leary of how it would come out. One thing I did different was put a drop of orange paste food coloring in the blender while the pumpkin was pureeing. And I pureed it for a long time so that it would be nice and smooth! Thanks, Mrs. Sigg's. OH, I also made another batch with just one cup of sugar instead of brown sugar, because I ran out, and it came out just fine. I like the brown sugar, though, it gives it a nice taste.

Kettle Corn

Wow! This became a really fast hit in my family. After making it a few times, though, I do have some suggestions. The last time I made it was the best. Instead of using oil, I melted about 1/4 cup of butter flavored shortening. It made the kernels pop much faster lighter, and had a hint of a buttery taste. Very nice. I also, added a few drops of decorator's icing coloring to the melted shortening and sugar mixture. When the popcorn pops, it explodes into a really beautiful color. You can even mix two colors together[only two batches of popcorn is needed for that;)]

Toasted Garlic Bread

This recipe was just what I was looking for - THanks! The only advice I have for future garlic bread makers is DON"T try to broil it on a flat pan or stone! It works best in a deep dish, that way the oils don't drip out.

Tortillas I

This was a great recipe. I never knew how easy it was to make tortillas. The only problem is, the rolling part is sooooooo tedious and long. You just can't get them thin enough, and after I make half the batch, I end up throwing hte rest of the dough away. I think next time, I'll try using a pasta maker to roll the dough really thin. hope it works!

Party Cookies

My kids and I had a blast making these! It took no time at all, and they felt like they really made something spectacular. The person who said they were tasteless and doughy must've made a mistake because they tasted great to me and my family. may need a bit more cooking time. We used cherry jello and can't wait to try different flavors to experiment!

Yakisoba Chicken

I have been wanting to make yakisoba for a loooong time now! Thanks for this great recipe. I added some mushrooms, too, just to sneak in a couple more veggies to my family. The kids loved it, too. OH, and I used chili powder because I didn't have any paste. %)

Forgotten Kiss Cookies

This is a terrific and very elegant-looking recipe. For a baby shower, I made half of the puffs pink and half white. It looked very nice, and everyone was very impressed with how delicious they were! Just make sure you beat them very very very well. You can't overbeat these but you CAN underblend them. Also, I didn't grease a cookie sheet, I put them on parchment paper, made it very easy for cleanup and they popped right off. Thanks.

Buttermilk Chocolate Chip Cookies

My mother used to make these - only in the form of cookie bars. I have been trying to find this recipe for years, and was beginning to think they would just be a fond childhood memory. I have made them three times for my family this week! The last two times, I substituted the nuts with butterscotch chips. That was a really great accent to this wonderful recipe!

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Can't Get Enough Caramel Cookies!

These are great! As for the saltiness - I think the sweet and salty combination is part of their appeal. I have made these four times now, and have been asked for the recipe each time. And they have been requested for a function I'm going to today. Thanks Mandy and Lisa!
