Grandma's Secret Pie Crust

I had to add about 2T extra water, maybe because my egg was a medium, not a large. It rolled out easily and was VERY FLAKEY! I've never been good at pie crusts, but I did great with this one. I had some leftover, so I rolled it outbaked it, and we used it for strawberry shortcake. Excellent!

Double Crust Bean Pie

I added about 1/2 pound of ground beef, browned with the peppers and the onion, and it was wonderful. I doubled the amount of the salsa. It was delicious and my family loved it.

Apple Cake V

this is the best apple cake I've ever eaten. I ended up using probably 4 cups of chopped apples and pecans instead of walnuts. Also, I had some getting-stale coconut macaroon cookies which I crumbled up with the apples--YUM! I used 1 cup of oil and only 1 cup of sugar. I made a powdered sugar glaze and drizzled it over the top. I ended up with a completely different cale, but it was great. I'll make it again for sure.

Blueberry Dump Cake

I'm really sorry I used 4 cups of expensive blueberries for this recipe. It's more like a bar cookie--about 1" high. Some of the cake mix that didn't get covered by the melted butter was just dry and crumbly on the top.

Peach Cobbler II

Sounds like everybody makes this recipe a little differently. I followed the recipe except I used 5 peaches and only 1 1/4 cups water. It was fantastic. This will be my only cobbler recipe from now on. I can't wait to try it with blueberries!

The Best Lemon Bars

This really is the best. Nice little crunch on the bottom and a nice tangy flavor. I'll make this one again! (I didn't have any lemons, so I used 5 Tablespoons bottled lemon juice. Turned out great.)

Old Fashioned Strawberry Pie

After reading the reviews, I was expecting a TERREFIC pie. Boy, was I disappointed. It was runny. I stopped baking at 35 minutes, when the top was beautiful and golden brown--and there were some bubbles coming out the vents. But the juice didn't thicken--it was runny and floury. Also, plan to eat this pie all in one day, because the next day the strawberries were pale and mushy.

O' Henry Bars

I sure won't make these again. They stuck in the pan so hard that I bent a spatula trying to get them out. Also, the topping was just really sticky unless I kept them in the frig. These just aren't worth the trouble. Sorry.

Excellent! I'm a coward about trying to cook new things, but this turned out great. (I didn't have any green chilies on hand, so I used some hot sauce and a little salsa. It was good.)

Basic British Scones

Very good! I made these for my Scottish friends and they loved them. I added mini-chocolate chips to one batch and raspberry jam to another. They took a little longer to bake than the recipe ways, but that could be my oven.

Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

These have a nice flavor, but didn't spread out very much--ended up looking like little balls. That may be because I live in Canada and our cake mixes are in grams, not ounces. I might have had too much cake mix and it made to batter too thick. But I'll make them again. Very easy and my family loved them.

Old Fashioned Crumb Cake

This cake was pretty good, but I'd call it a spice cake instead of crumb cake. The cake has a dark color, because of the cinnamon and cloves. The crumb topping was sparce.
