Lentil Chili

Delish! I didn't have any bulgar wheat, so I substituted with more lentils. I also added a can of kidney beans to make it more chili-ish.

Oven Roasted Potatoes

Potato, Broccoli and Cheese Soup

Delicious! I sauteed the garlic as other has suggested. The best part about this recipe is that it doesn't call for heavy cream or milk.

It's hard for me to review this recipe... because I only got to enjoy 1 slice! The rest of the loaf was quickly consumed by my husband, neighbours and friends. The only change I made was substituting whole wheat flour and brown sugar. Came out delicious. Next time I'll add chocolate chips.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Yum! These muffins came out moist and delicious. I used brown sugar and whole wheat flour instead of what the recipe called for. I also thought the batter was a little thick, so I added some sour cream I had in my fridge. Delish. The cinnamon and sugar topping made these muffins.

Apple Cake I

I made this cake on Tuesday night, and it was a moist and tasty treat for the rest of the week! Rave reviews from friends and family. I didn't have enough apples, so I supplemented with some apple sauce instead, which I think contributed towards it being so moist. I ended up baking it for 65 minutes, far longer than the suggested 30 minutes.

Peach Cobbler II

First of all, do not use a springform pan for this recipe. It was a rookie mistake. As soon as I poured the boiling water over my peaches, it drained out the bottom of my pan and all over the counter! I tried to salvage my ingredients by re-spicing the peaches and scooping the batter into a regular pan, but I guess I wasn't successful. We felt like it was a lot of dough, and not many peaches, even though I used more than the recipe called for. In addition, the peaches got dried out from being on the top.

Apple Yogurt Pancakes

I had high hopes for this recipe, as we enjoy our traditional German apple pancakes each weekend. Unfortunately, this recipe didn't compare. Instead of including the cinnamon in the recipe, I sprinkled it on top with some sugar. This left the pancakes tasting a little bland. In addition, I used grated Gala apples, which didn't pack the punch I had hoped for. I suggest thinly slicing the apples and placing them into the batter once in the pan. This not only looks great, but delivers a tasty amount of apple in each bite :)

Nova Scotia Blueberry Cream Cake

I made this tonight and served it warm to my friends. It turned out great! It was a little soft on the top, but I think it's because I didn't let it cool. A delicious treat! Not to sweet, and very tasty!
