Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2014
I have made this pie dozens of times. It is always a huge hit. My husbands favorite pie is apple and this recipe is his favorite of all he has tried. I always follow the recipe, but with time I learned to pour most of the filling in before the lattice top for ease of pouring. I always reserve some to brush or pour over the lattice because this really makes the crust great. For those who said they got a runny mess, try cooking your filling a bit longer.

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2012
This is the most awesome recipe, baked just as written. I have tried to mix the liquid with the apples before putting the lattice crust on as some reviewers have suggested and found it is only as good if you reserve some to brush over the lattice after applying it. You have to pour it slowly if you don't do that, but it is much better with the liquid over the crust also. Thank you so much for this recipe!!!

Bacon Wrapped Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2012
I have made this recipe many times using both the directions as written and substituting due to lack of ingredients or a taste for something different that day. It is really hard to mess this up! It has never failed to please family or friends, many of whom ask for it constantly!

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake II

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
Following the directions carefully I found this cake to be wonderful. For the soggy messes, I would suggest that if you use different ingredients (ex: canned pineapple instead of fresh) you will get a different result if you don't modify other ingredients also. Canned pineapple is much more wet than fresh and often times much sweeter, depending on how it is canned.
