Fettuccini Carbonara

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2010
maybe it was something I did, but this creation did not turn out well, the sauce did not come together, I even tried heating it up on the stove to allow the cheese to melt in, but it just didn't absorb into the pasta, it became more of a separate entity w/in the dish. I did add chicken & mushrooms, it was tolerable to eat, my BF who had been working in the yard for 6 hrs straight came in & gobbled it down, however, he was starving. I may give this a go again at some point.....

Peppered Shrimp Alfredo

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2010
so delish! I couldn't believe what I thought would be a simple 'alfredo' dish would turn out so flavorful! The red bell really added flavor to this dish. I added chicken and used a whole red bell pepper, I used the 1tbsp of cayenne b/c we love spice. I did sub asiago cheese for the romano ch b/c that was what I had. my BF was raving over this meal throughout saying how great it was. The final clincher was when he said "I would eat this 3x a week, this is a keeper!" then he high-fived me! What a way to start & end a dinner. Thank you for posting this.

Curried Coconut Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2010
I thought this dish was great- I loved the taste & aroma the curry added. The leftovers were so good the next day! This is a keeper in my book but for some reason my BF did not enjoy- I think the curry off-set him & the fact I mentioned there was coconut milk in it. Too bad- this will become a regular staple during a few months.

White Chili with Ground Turkey

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2010
excellent! I added red pepper flakes and doubled the cumin & oregano, I also added in about 4 tbsp of jalapeno cheese along w/mozz cheese b/c I had no monteray jack cheese. I simmered for about an hour to thicken up & not be runny. Had some left over cheddar & bacon biscuits to soak everything up- yum!

Pot Stickers Traditional

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2010
These were terrific & so tasty as an appetizer- The dipping sauce was fantastic- I added some red pepper flakes into the mixture for a little more zip. I initially started out by making my own dough, but then switched to the store bought wonton wrappers, which made the process easier- it is a lot of prep work but well worth it for the final product, had enough mixture to freeze a few batches. I omitted using water to steam and used less then 1/4 cup chicken broth to steam for about 10 min. I also just sprayed the pan w/PAM and spraged the stickers w/PAM while browning instead of oil.

This was so tasty! I added more red pepper flakes b/c we like it spicy, I also made as a dinner and used about 3 tbsp of WW flour to thicken it up- served it over rice, was so good! This dinner was requested again by BF who thought it was yummy. This is a keeper!

Honey Mustard Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2010
This was good- I just altered a little- added lemon juice & more dijon must b/c I thought it needed it- I also added in cashews from memory of an awesome honey cashew dressing from a restaurant I worked in several years ago, I also felt it needed some thickening- so I added in about 2 tbsp of flour- made enough for 2 people over dinner salads & about 1 cup leftover in fridge- will make again.

Asian Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2010
Oh my god- this was absolutely awesome! The flavor was perfect. I added a bit more orange zest then called for and followed others direction by heating the chicken in the oven after browning. I was not able to marinate for the full 2 hours, I only could marinate for about 45 min. I also had a little difficulty keeping the flour mixture on the chicken while browning- I will follow the advice of another by dipping chix in egg before flour to hopefully keep flour mix on. Will def. make again, served over rice & there were no leftovers! Kudos to Harry for posting this recipe!

Cheese Ravioli with Pumpkin Sage Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
The sauce is so great! This tasted like a 5 star meal at a restaurant. I stopped at my local italian deli & picked up lobster stuffed ravioli & made the sauce in October, was too die for! The ravioli were a bit large & the sauce is very rich so now I just use 1 or 2 lobster stuffed ravioli as a starter or app before a dinner- would serve this meal to guests!

Broccoli Chicken Roli

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
hmmm, I attempted this to bring along to my sister's house for an appetizer on x-mas day. as others posted, I couldn't figure out the arrangement using the bowl in the middle, so I just made individual figure apps w/the rolls & filling- many remarked how good it was, great side dish or app for a party, perhaps the poster can explain the bowl/arrangement configuration a little more....

Slow Cooker Split Pea Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
had some left over ham & substituted for the sausage, I omitted the carrots b/c I'm not a fan. I cooked in the crockpot for 6 hours & still had puree w/a hand blender, turned out fantastic! I used red potatoes & kept the skin on, had enough to freeze to enjoy later during the colder months- this is a keeper!

It's a keeper! I had a large quanity of left over ham to use up & decided to freeze some homemade soups for the upcoming winter, this recipe caught my eye- served for dinner that night & the b-friend raved about it! I used red potatos and kept the skin on, added a little cheddar cheese to the rue before combining w/the base. I will be making extra batches to freeze again. this is a hearty, warm soup that's delish!!!
