Simple Ranchy Breaded Fish Fillets

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2010
We didn't care for this ... definitely tooooo salty for us and it fell apart... we also used pollock if that made any difference.

Swanson® Maple Dijon Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
Don't know what I did, but this was just ok. The sauce never did thicken up and it was a bit weird for our liking. I really don't know how to make it different so we'll like it.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2009
We loved this! We must be the exception though, cause we wanted MORE sweetness! I only used about 1/4 cup and put it on the bottom as stated in recipe. Next time I'll use the full 1/2 cup. I added some ketchup to the meat and used onion soup mix as others along with plain and seasoned bread crumbs instead of crackers. Used one egg, 1/2 cup milk and no ginger (forgot actually!!) I also had to bake it quite a bit longer, so I'll raise the temp to 365 or 375 next time. This is our new meatloaf recipe! Thanks!

Savory Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2009
These weren't "wow" but we enjoyed them. I was expecting a lot more flavor, maybe I didn't do something right. I used 8 jumbo biscuits (16 oz) and put them in a greased 9x13 pan. Like another reviewer, I liked that the bottoms were nice and browned. I'll probably try something like these again, though!

Chicken Noodle Casserole I

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
This definitely has potential ... I used 1 can cream of chicken, 1 can cream of onion and used crushed herb croutons mixed with melted margarine for the topping. I won't use them again, a bit too much herb seasoning for me. I'll definitely use more cheese next time (I just sprinkled some on top) and use less noodles. But a keeper for sure!

Pork Chops to Live For

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
Oh my gosh these were awesome!!! I used 3 extra thick chops, 1 can cream of chicken, 1 can cream of onion and canned evaporated milk (+ skim milk to make the 2 cups) ... I did bread the chops but didn't really notice it after they were done. I also used a Tuscan chicken seasoning before the breading and threw some in on top the gravy while cooking. I cooked them on high for almost 5 hours. These were soooo tender and the sauce was really good! My hubby's favorite pork chop recipe by a MILE! Thanks so much!

Amy's Garlic Egg Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2008
I tried to make this on the stove and it didn't turn out ... but the flavor of the garlic was all the way thru the chicken! I'll try it again in the oven this time!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2008
I didn't think this was the best I've ever had. I have never made my own sauce but it didn't seem worth it. I had to add so much sugar to make the sauce not so tomato-ey. I'll stick to the jarred stuff. It also was only 2 noodles thick, which I thought was strange. But my dish wouldn't allow another layer so it must have been right.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2008
Good, but way tooo salty for my taste. I will definitely use less chicken boulion next time. I used ham and bacon and sauteed them with the onion before adding the water and potatoes. But definitely don't use extra salt!

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2008
Second time making this and it was even better than before! Don't know what I did to make it better, but it was! It was hard flipping the patties w/all the onions and the whole pan was full of grease but the end result was ALL worth it!

Ranch Burgers

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2008
I don't know what I did, but this turned into hamburger flop. The meat didn't stay together so I just cut it up with my spatula like I was browning the hamburger. I gave it two stars cause hubby thought it was good. I did not care for it.

Cheddar Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2008
This was pretty good ... I always use butter and sour cream in my mashed potatoes but the cheese and bacon was a nice addition! I mixed it all up and sprinkled more cheese on top with chives. Yummy!

These were ok, nothing fancy. Definitely liked that the breading stayed on the chops! Will probably make again.

Perfect Berry Shortcakes

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2008
These were great and super easy to make. I followed the recipe except used frozen margarine instead of butter. I also made the Easy Whipped Cream recipe from this website to put over the cakes and fresh strawberries. A definite keeper!

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: May 19, 2008
Made this for MY birthday and it was to DIE for!!! Oh my!! I didn't change a thing and we loved it. Hubby said the breadcrumb topping made the dish taste like grilled cheese which is his number 2 favorite after mac and cheese ... so I guess this one is a keeper :)

A Good Easy Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: May 19, 2008
I also changed this a bit following some of the other reviewers. I used a lot of minced garlic and chopped onion to saute with the chicken which I cut up in 1 X 4 inch pieces. I let it all get browned up (it took quite a while!) then added 1 cup chicken broth and 1/8 cup flour to thicken it up and cooked it all the way through. Next time hubby wants me to add some lemon juice for "zing" and brown the sauce a bit more. The longer the chicken sat in the sauce, the better it was. Seconds were even better!! Will try again with these modifications. Thanks!!

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2008
Definitely easy ... didn't get thick though so I had to add a cornstarch/water mixture. Will add salt next time too. But hubby really liked it so I'll keep it!

Chicken Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2008
This is really great! For some reason it only made four and I used an 8 x 8 pan. Good thing it was just the two of us!! I'll definitely make this again!
