I grew up in the restaurant business and have developed a real love of food. I am currently doing some private chef work, in addition to training dogs and caring for race horses.
My favorite things to cook
I'll cook anything but my favs are still the old style, homey dishes. I have a large garden and I do a lot of canning, too.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When I was a kid, my dad used to take us to the restaurant and make us pancakes in the shape of gingerbead men on XMas morning. I never had kids to share that tradition with, but it's a fond memory and I still make those pancakes for my husband!
My cooking triumphs
I've mastered pate a chou! The first time I tried it was over 25 years ago and I just recently discovered that room temp eggs make it a heckuva lot easier to get the dough smooth!
My cooking tragedies
I can't make a meatloaf to save myself.
