Pickled Jalapenos and Carrots

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2010
I made the recipe but added about 1 heaping tspn of dried oregano,4 cloves of crushed garlic, and a tspn of whole peppercorns to the boiled vinigar/sugar mixture! Yummy and totally tastes the same as the resturants

Orzo and Rice

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2011
We really enjoyed this side dish!! I doubled the recipe because I always make extra rice to have for later meals. I also added about .5 tspn of italian seasoning to the browning orzo step. I don't ever buy rice a roni, and I think I've eaten it once in my life, but I LOVED this recipe!! The orzo makes it almost creamy, and makes "rice“ so much better! I also plan on making it often! Thank you for the recipe!

Court's Creamy and Quick Burritos

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2012
My family really loved this recipe!! Even my 4,5,&,6 year olds liked it!! It was easy too. The flavors were a bit flat though. I don't know why because the taco packet, salsa, and cream soup are flavored. Prob would make again:), but would add cilantro, or maybe Swiss cheese! Mmmmmm

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2011
I've never had asian wraps before, and just made this for dinner. Instead of wraps, I made the meat mixture (using poached chicken) and used it on an iceburg lettuce salad. I also substituted ground ginger, and terriaki sauce for the hoison, and used about a tspn of red pepper flakes, and let it simmer with the mixture. I served the salad with thai rice noodles mixed w/ peanut sauce, and topped w/peanuts,and cilantro. My husband said the dinner was "bomb",and I enjoyed also. The meat mixture had an all-around great flavor! Thanks for recipe!

Blueberry Cream Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2010
I really enjoyed making these muffins! The batter was so easy to prepare, and work with! I want to try the same recipe except use banana instead of blueberrys. Very moist, and tender muffins, and my boys love them! My 5 year old says they are the best ever!!

Nitey Night Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2011
I really love this recipe!! I've never made,or had a merange(sp),so I had no idea what to expect. These cookies are great! I used walnuts instead of pecan because that's what I had, along with choc chips. I gave 4 stars for lack of stating what the "prepared pan" was. Because of other reviews, I used an opened paper bag,and it worked awesome!! Also preheated 425 per other review. Thanks for recipe!!

This is a good recipe. I used cherry kool~aid, and sugar free strawberry~banana jell~o. Also just 1/2 cup sugar, and they were sweet enough. My 3 young boys really like these popcicles! I like the texture too!

Lemon Pie I

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2011
I had planned on making a lemon pie,and a lime pie with 2 crusts, and just one can of milk, and one tub of topping. I thought I'd have two shallow pies, but I found that the one recipe made two full-to-the rim pies! I had tons of lemons, and limes, and I went zest and juice crazy! About 4 each(lemon & lime). The lemon filling was "burn your throat"sour!so I had to use about 1/2 cup of Hersheys Strawberry Syrup to swirl into the pre-frozen pie. That made it like a strawberry lemonaid flavor! Really good! The lime pie was perfect as was done! They kept well in the freezer, and sliced wonderfully! My husband acted like it was poison when I told him what I had made, but asked for a piece every night til they were gone! :) thank u! Will make often! And will only use listed amount of juice in the future! ;)

Three-Step Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2011
I'm almost nervous to rate this recipe since I made it with items I had on hand, and not the original ingredients. I used red leaf lettuce,no onions, celery, mandarins, and I had whole plain almonds that I chopped up. For the dressing I did garlic infused evoo(homemade),Chardonnay dijon mustard, and fresh lemon juice. I was not going to go spend extra $ on the ingredient list if I had similar items at home. This salad was very good, and basically made as recipe. Thank you :)

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2010
After reading other reveiws, I changed some things. I didn't want a super sweet, greasy candy,so I used 1/2 a stick of butter, and 1 cup of sugar. I left everything eles the same as written. I also microwaved the crust ing for 30 second to help melt the PB since I used such little butter, and that made everything mix very well! This recipe is great!! Its not overly sweet nor greasy due to my modifications, and I LOVE it!! Its just like a resess(sp) cup!! And I'm amazed at the clean cut!! I thought it would be like cutting a cheesecake! Nice recipe!

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2011
I'm sorry, but I didn't enjoy this recipe at all. I've rated many recipes from this site, and gave great ratings! (I'm trying to say that I'm NOT picky! :) ) I followed the recipes ingredients exactly, just floured my chicken pieces, and browned in oil first. I then put chicken, and mixed sauce in my slow cooker. Cooked on low about 2 or 3 hrs til done. The house smelled like garlicky, soy sauce! And tasted the same! I'm sorry to say that, but I can't describe it any other way. Maybe I'll try again, and use stove top because maybe the crockpot messed it up! :) thank u!

Apple Squares

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
These bars turned out pretty good! They have a very delicate, sweet flavor. I only used 3/4 cup each brown and white sugars, and doubled the recipe. I baked in a 9x13 pan. I also used 3 apples chopped fine. Mine turned out moist, and fluffy. To me, the picture makes them look chewy, like a brownie, which I would have really enjoyed that texture, but all in all, these are great!!

Magic Cookie Bars II

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2010
I just made this recipe using, shortbread cookie crumbs, chopped peanuts, choc chips, butterscotch chips, coconut, and condensed milk. The flavor is good, just not my thing! Its too gooey, and soft for me! I prefer crisp, and firm textured bars/cookies.I know my husband will enjoy since he loves gooey/under baked cookies. :) thanks for recipe!

Maple-Vanilla Syrup

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2010
I halved the white sugar, and water amount, and didn't add corn syrup[my oppinion of a nasty ingredient],I also didn't have brown sugar,so I omitted it.since I didn't have brown sugar,I "browned“ the white sugar in pan a few minutes, then added water, and at that moment, the sugar hardened and looked like rocks. But after it simmered 8 min, I took off the heat, and added flavorings. Let it cool a bit,and poured into a glass jar. Its really sweet, but yummy and natural tasting! I know my boys will love it on their pancakes!

Chicken Tagine

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2010
Me and my family really enjoyed this recipe! I substatuted ing. With what I had on hand. I used onion powder,[had no fresh]and prunes[had no apricots],and a small can of tomatoe sauce instead of paste. My 3 year old said,"mmm good mom“aft er the first few bites, and my 3,4,and 5 year old boys cleaned their plates. Oh, and I also added the eggplant the last hour of cooking to keep it in tact. My husband liked the cinnamon! :)

Peanut Butter Popcorn

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2010
This is super yummy!! I added a little salt onto fresh air popped corn, and sprayed a cookie sheet w cooking spray, then baked the mixture at 250 for about 30 min. My 3 kids, plus 4 extra kids LOVED this while gooey still, and ate the gooey scrapes left in the bowl! My 5 year old said,"mom, this is the best PB popcorn ever, and I want u to make it for dessert every night!" and the 10 year old cousins said it was so good, and they can't stop eating it! I agree!!

Bronco Burger

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2010
I usually never follow a recipe exactly. This one is no exception, I used onion powder instead of fresh, soy sauce, about 2 tsps of oregano(a pinch seemed point-less!)about 2lbs of beef, and no chips.and chipotle style hot sauce. Everything eles I kept the same. This burger was yummy! I LOVE the way the oregano tasted, and it wasn't spicy at all(then again, I eat whole, fresh jalapenos w/ seeds pretty much every night w my dinner) , but it had a good charred flavor from the peppers! No flavor stood out, but all flavors were wonderful together! I served the burgers on toasted english muffins, and put green chile jelly on mine! Sooooo yummy!!! The only "manly" thing about this burger was that I wanted about 3 of them, but refrained and just had one with a veggie salad. THX for recipe! :)
