Million Dollar Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2010
My mother has a recipe very similar to this that she has been making for years and I was so excited to find this one! I changed two things: I used pineapple cake mix and added chopped walnuts as part of the topping. I've made this cake several times and every time it is a HIT! Thanks for sharing!

Pecan Sour Cream Pound Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2010
I made this for my mother-in-law's birthday and she absolutely loved it! This is definitely a "mom" kind of cake. I did follow a few tips from reviewers: I reduced the sugar amount to 2 1/2 cups, added chopped pecans to the batter, and doubled the glaze recipe. Thanks for sharing!

Blooming Onion and Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2010
I followed the recipe exactly as it is written. I did however, double the amount of dry ingredients (as was suggested) and it was just the right amount for my large Texas sweet onion! Thank you "pink" reviewer for your tips on preparing the onion- I couldn't have done it without them! The dipping sauce was not to our liking but it is just an opinion and nothing against the recipe. This was a hit with the mister! I will be adding this blooming onion recipe to my collection. Thanks for sharing!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2010
These were perfect! They were very moist and had a great banana flavor. I did follow a few reviewer suggestions: I added 1 tsp. vanilla, 1/2 tsp. nutmeg, and 3/4 tsp. cinnamon to the muffin batter and 1/4 tsp. to crumb topping- I did not add the topping until the last 5 mins and this helped keep it from melting/burning. I also added 1/2 cup of walnuts (I couldn't go without them!) With this recipe I was able to make 12 reg muffins and 22 mini muffins. Thanks for sharing!

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
I love love love these cookies! They were nice and chewy but not too soft. I will use this recipe always! Thank you Beth! *My advice is to foil the bottom of your sheet, they brown beautifully!
