Absolutely Fabulous Greek/House Dressing

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2012
This is my second favorite salad dressing of all time. The other one is my tahini soy sauce dressing, which you can find on crash test vegetarian (dot) com. This was absolutely brilliant. A perfect bite.

Cream Cheese Squares

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2011
A lady at my work makes these all the time. We no longer clal them cream cheese squares, they have been renamed crack bars.

Lemon-Garlic Green Beans

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2011
This is a winner! Made a few changes to make things easier - 1. I left them whole. 2. Microwave green beans first (microwave safe bowl with plastic wrap tightly over the top) for 3-5 minutes. 3. Used chicken broth to keep it moist rather than adding more oil. :)

Sweet and Spicy Green Beans

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2011
These were delicious. I only had sweet chili sauce, not garlic chili sauce, so I skipped the honey and added garlic. I microwaved the green beans for 3 minutes (covered) rather than steaming. Very simple and tasty recipe.

Southern Turnip Supreme

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2010
I used rutabaga (yellow turnip) and chicken broth because those were what I had on hand. I also only used about half the cheese, but I mixed it in so it melted. It was SO good, I could have eaten it as a meal by itself.

Kielbasa and Cabbage

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2010
I loved this. Cost me a total of $4, and made 4 very large servings for my husband and I. We skipped the potatoes because we eat lowcarb, and used splenda. Also added red wine vinegar off the heat to enhance the cabbage flavor. Great, super quick, super cheap, meal!

Fried Cabbage II

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2010
I actually removed most of the bacon grease, and did not add water. It turned out great, even hubby really liked it. I used red wine vinegar, I don't ever have cider vinegar (can't stand the smell). - I used leftover coleslaw.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2010
This was a fantastic chili recipe (though I wouldn't say award winning). However, this replaced my old chili recipe as my favorite chili. I halved the recipe because there are only two of us, and I regreted it!

This is similar to my recipe, but I use 3 c milk, and 3 Tbsp butter (to make the roux prior to adding milk).

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2010
Let me preface this review by stating... I HATE CREAM OF MUSHROOM SOUP!!! I hate recipes from it, I hate the taste of the stuff and I hate how many darn things it's in. With that said, I love this recipe. I love that it's easy, I love that the flavors bring out the beefy taste and not overpower it. I love the gravy and I loved the roast. I cooked it for 3 hours at 325 in my dutch oven. Perfect! I didn't change a thing.

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
I just can't even begin to express how much I loved this recipe. I really would give it 10 stars if I could. I used fresh mushrooms, half the butter, made it crustless and split it between two pans, cooked at 30 minutes. Loved it! Eating it now for leftover breakfast :)

Colcannon

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
I stumbled upon this recipe by accident and was shocked cause this has been a family recipe that's been passed down through generations, had no idea anyone else did it! Love this! If you don't like cabbage, don't worry... nobody in my family does but me, and people go back for three and four servings of this.

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2010
I didn't have any thyme on hand, so I threw in a sprig of fresh rosemary to cook for a bit (not the entire time, rosemary is too strong), and it turned out delicious. Will definitely be making this again. Reminds me of chicken Marsala but with balsamic vinegar rather than Marsala wine.

Garlicky Baked Butternut Squash

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2010
This was pretty good. Parm didn't really do anything for it in my opinion (I tried it before and after the cheese). I would only cook it 30-40 minutes next time.

One of my all time favorite ways to enjoy cauliflower. I use about a tablespoon of whatever mustard is on hand. Yellow mustard is the favorite.

Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
Skipped the spinach (kale just seems to fit this better, but I didn't have any of that), threw in about a cup of shell pasta. Also used 2 cans instead of 1 of the tomatoes. The only thing I would do differently next time is possibly a dash of red pepper flakes and more broth. This has been added to our number 1 meals, everyone LOVED it! I just wanted to add that it's been a while since I first tried this recipe and I've made it literally more than a dozen times, we love it so much. Everytime italian sausage goes on sale I make it! Thanks again for this recipe.
