Cinnamon Raisin Bread I

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2012
Good. Next time I'd add cinnamon to the dough and double the raisins.

Bread Machine Bagels

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2012
Delicious and easy to make! I also used 1 1/8 c. of water as suggested and let the bagels rise for about 30 minutes instead of 10. Will definitely make again!

Chocolate Chip Cheesecake I

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2011
I just made this cake for my father in law and it was delicious! It was my first time making a cheesecake so I was a bit nervous... but my cake didn't crack at all and came out creamy and moist. I followed the directions except that I melted 3/4 cups of the chocolate chips with 1 tbsp of butter in the microwave and mixed it in with the cream cheese and condensed milk. The melted chocolate made a "marble look" which was cool. I then sprinkled the remaining chocolate chips on the top of the cake batter once it was in the pan. I did put my spring pan in another pan (just a larger plain cake pan) and added about 1/2 inch of boiling water and baked for one hour... then cooled in the oven for one hour. Sounded difficult at first but ended up not being too bad.

Pizza Dough III

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2011
This recipe turned out better than any other pizza crust recipe I have ever tried before. I followed the advice of others and used 2.5 cups of flour instead of 2 cups. Overall, the crust turned out very soft and chewy. I baked it for 22 minutes at 350F. I will definitely used this recipe again!

Paula's Bread Sticks

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2011
This recipe turned out amazing the first time I tried it. I followed the advice of others and used 4 tbsp. of butter instead of 3, and decreased the sugar from 1/4 cup to 4 tbsp. I sprinkled the top of the breadsticks with salt and garlic powder just prior to baking as well. Delicious!

Egg Noodles

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
This was my first time making noodles at home. Overall, this is a very straight-forward recipe and easy to follow. My only difficulty was rolling out the dough. I ended up rolling it into a box-like shape about 1/4 inch tall, and that into strips. In the end, the noodles looked like cut up bacon strips, but they tasted great and added a lot to the soup I made it to go with.

Grilled Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
I have used this recipe twice, and both times it has produced outstanding soup! I used 6 cups of chicken broth, and might actually use 7-8 cups next time. I also use more peas (about 1/2 cup) and skip the mushrooms altogether. Very easy to make, also suggest making egg noddles from scratch--tried that for the first time tonight and it added wonderful flavor and texture to the soup.

Baking Powder Drop Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
Delicious! I used butter instead of shortening because that's all I had. I also took the advice of another reviewer and baked the biscuits at 450F for 7 minutes and then about 5-6 minutes at 400F. For those using butter, I would recommend chilling the dough for a while prior to baking -- mine spread out quite a bit while baking. All in all, this recipe produced great tasting biscuits! Thanks!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2010
This recipe was very easy to make and took no time at all. I followed the recipe exactly as it was written, and was pleased with how moist and tasty the muffins turned out. I recommend making a double recipe--I only got 6 large muffins out of it.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: May 20, 2010
I followed the recipe without adjusting anything, other than adding 1/2 tsp. vanilla. They were fluffy and soft, but kind of salty. Next time, I would probably reduce the salt to 3/4 tsp. and the baking powder to 2 1/2 tsp. Other than the salty flavor, we enjoyed these pancakes a lot! Thanks

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: May 2, 2010
Very good! I followed the advice of others and cut the sugar down to 1/3 cup. Everything else I followed from the original recipe. It was my first time making bread by hand, and it turned out very moist and fluffy. Looking forwards to making it again!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2010
Delicious. I followed the advice of others and substituted the butter for 1/3 c oil. I also added in 1/2 tsp. of cinnamon. My husband and I both loved them! I won't be feeling bad about not using old bananas anymore...thanks for sharing.

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2010
A delicious recipe! I ended up skipping the onion soup mix and adding 1/2 c. red wine and 3 beef bouillon cubes. Also added only 1/2 of water instead of a whole cup. My husband liked it so much that he ate it for breakfast!

Chicken Alfredo

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
This is a great recipe! I just made a few changes--I used 1/2 the cream cheese and added in about 1/4 cup of sour cream to thin it out a bit. I also doubled the broccoli and didn't use any other veggies. My husband and I loved it!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
I followed this recipe pretty closely, but I ended up with too much liquid. It turned out soup-like...but the flavors blended well (I added chicken bouillon and garlic powder) and it tastes good. Next time I will have to find some way to make the sauce thicker.

LOVE this recipe! Very simple and easy to follow. The only thing I ever add to it is some frozen corn.
