Slow Cooker Texas Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2011
I made this recipe EXACTLY as written, and in the end I found it to be edible, but not pleasant. It was WAY too sweet, and the barbecue sauce flavor was too much. The texture did turn out great, and it looked fantastic, but when I bit into it, I just got this overwhelming tangy, way-too-sweet mouthful of barbecue. I will either have to keep looking for another recipe or perhaps read some of the reviews to see if anyone had some suggestions to cut that sweetness. Thanks for the recipe, but it's not my cup of tea.

Pasta Pomodoro

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
WOW! These flavors all work really well together. I followed the recipe exactly except I cut the pasta from 16 oz to about 12 oz. Other than that I made it exactly as written and it is delicious.

Turkey Tetrazzini II

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2010
This was ok. It wasn't bad, just blah. I would recommend only using the white meat for this because if you use dark meat it gives it a strange flavor. It's in need of some veggies or bacon or something.

Lemon Cream Pasta with Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2010
This had a very distinct, but not overpowering, lemon taste which I found light and delicious even though it was a cream sauce. Very good as is, but next time I plan to use chopped fresh garlic as well since we love love love garlic. I served it with a side of sauteed zucchini and it was a yummy meal!

Irish Champ

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2010
Even though this is a simple recipe, it packs some seriously delicious flavor. A few other reviews said it wasn't authentic without the egg, which may be true, but rating this recipe as-is... it is a "champ"! Delicious. I always like to add a little sour cream for creaminess too, but it doesn't have to have it

Amy's Cilantro Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2010
I don't usually like sour cream or cream cheese, but I made it when requested, and must say I was surprised by the flavor. It had a great, unique flavor, and the only reason it gets only 3 stars is because I still couldn't get past idea that the sour cream and cream cheese were in there. I will try it again, and I'm sure it will grow on me

Southwestern Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2010
I have been looking for this type of recipe since I had something like this at a restaurant and these are PERFECT. I didn't change a thing, and they came out very good. I tried them with "Amy's Cilantro Sauce" as suggested by many other reviews, but I didn't think it was necessary. Great recipe!

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
I followed the recipe almost exactly... I substituted pumpkin pie spice for the cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. And the icing is a MUST for these cookies! The cookies aren't super sweet, so they pair perfectly with the icing to give it great balance. Will make over and over again!

Brown Sugar-Caramel Latte

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
This was absolutely delicious! I used caramel sauce made for coffee (Torani, I think), but since I'm a wimp if coffee flavor is too strong, I added an additional tablespoon of brown sugar. I really enjoyed it, and even with the extra sugar it wasn't too sweet. I prefer to have this over Starbuck's! And I think next time I will use the recommended amount of brown sugar to give it a try.

Asparagus Linguine

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
I love pasta, but this wasn't my favorite one that I've had. I added chicken and some slivered almonds to it for some extra flavor and crunch. Also, right at the end, I added a touch of cream (because I had it and needed to use it) The problem I had with it was that it was too lemony. Next time, if I make it again, I will reduce the lemon by at least half.

Chinese Napa Cabbage Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
I thought this recipe was really yummy! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, was because it didn't "wow" me, but I very much enjoyed it. I will make it again!

Zesty Southern Pasta and Bean Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
I thought this was a fresh, zesty twist on pasta salad. I loved the sweetness the corn brought. I recommend putting in a lot less cumin and adding some more Italian dressing because it was a little dry when I made it, but other than that it was yummy.

Chicken Encilantrada

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
This recipe was a good meal to throw together when you are low on groceries because it didn't have a lot of ingredients. However, it was a little bland as-is. I added some cumin, garlic salt, and used green enchilada sauce and it helped with the flavors. Good, but not great.
