Snickerdoodles I

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2013
Awesome cookies & super easy to make!!! My husband is the snookerdoodle expert and he devours them each time I make them. I changed only one thing in the recipe: I used 1/2 butter and 1/2 butter flavored crisco. I do that in all cookie recipes. I flattened the dough after it was rolled in the cinn mixture. I wasn't sure what to do. My husband said they were perfect. This recipe also makes delicious drop sugar cookies; just eliminate rolling batter in cinn & sugar mix. I just sprinkled some sugar on top. I think that the batter would also make a great crust for some pies that need a cookie like crust. Thank You Sooooo much for such a terrific recipe!!!!

Cakes In A Cone

Reviewed: May 5, 2011
I made these for my kids probably 30 years ago. I baked the cake mix in the cones and then took the cooled cones to our local Dairy Queen and had soft serve ice cream put on top, with sprinkles. It was always a big hit with the kids! It was somewhat expensive to add the ice cream, but was worth it.

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: May 1, 2011
Delicious & easy!! In my kitchenaid, I whisked eggs, melted butter, milk, 1/2 c of white sugar, 1/4 c of brown sugar, cinnamon & vanilla. Then I added to the whisked ingredients, broken pieces of fresh pepperidge farm white sandwich (9 slices) bread, chopped pecans & raisins, then poured into a greased glass baking dish. My pudding did not look as pretty as photo number one, but is 3/4 gone in less than a day. Looks like a sheet cake, because everything was whisked. My husband asked that I keep this recipe. I thought that I'd be able to freeze some for another time, but he's been picking at it all day. Thank you for such a great recipe!

Date Nut Loaf Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2011
This date nut loaf cake was excellent. So easy & much like the date nut loaf I have purchased up in Amish country. Also freezes well. so you can make ahead of time. I made it exactly as described, but added more nuts & dates. Will add even more next time. Thank You for a long sought after recipe!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2010
Awesome recipe!! I've made them twice & they've turned out perfectly each time & they were a hit with my guests. Just delicious, even the next day! I made the 16 serving size recipe, but will divide to make 32 dinner rolls, because the rolls are enourmous.

Olie Bollen

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2010
Delicious & easy!!! I didn't read the instructions correctly & added the rasins & granny smith apples before it had rested & risen, but it still turned out perfectly. Sort of tastes like funnel cake from the fair! I made 12 servings & that was too much. Best to serve & eat immediately.

Old Fashioned Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2009
Very easy & delicious! I used 3 store bought crusts & reduced the amount of sugar to 1 cup. I think next time I will reduce the sugar 1/2 c-to 3/4 c, because the sauce was just a little too sweet. I used 1/2 c white sugar & 1/2 c brown sugar. I cut the apples in half which was a much better serving size. Served warm with with vanilla ice cream. They were a hit with my dinner guests.

Sticky Buns

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
As suggested by other reviewers, I doubled the filling, but also added lots of chopped nuts & rasins. To the topping, I also added lots of chopped nuts & rasins. In stead of using a saucepan, I used the microwave. I used regular flour. My guests said that I "nailed it", meaning that they were just like they remembered from childhood. This recipe was so...easy & delicious. I wrapped the left overs securely in a zip-lock bag, removing as much air as possible, so they were soft & delicious the next day. This will become another signature dish of mine, for years to come. Thank You So...much for the recipe!! I've made this recipe several times & its turned out perfectly every time. I plan to use the dough recipe for dinner rolls tonight. Much better recipe than what came with the bread machine. May 2011: While its still cool out, I will be making several batches to freeze for summer guests. They freeze very well. Thanks again for the recipe!!!!!!!
