Whipped Carrots And Parsnips

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
Love the taste of this, and it won over my picky hubby. The only thing I didn't do was put it in the processor.. I wish I would have. I just used a potato masher and it left some strings from the parsnips. I will make this again!!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
I followed some others suggestions and added different veggies, I also upped the ham amounts as hubby prefers a meatier soup. I also used chicken stock instead of water and bouillon. This is hands down the best soup I've had in ages. We've made it 3 times now and the last time we made tons to freeze.

Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
I used 5 Johnamac apples and a 1/2 a Johnagold and only used 1/2 c water, but the sugar and cinnamon as suggested. I put them in the slow cooker on high for 3 hours. I put them in sliced, not chopped, so that helped cut down on the time. The applesauce is delish!

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Secret Recipe

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
I had 4# of red potatoes and I used 1 stick of salted butter, 1 clove roasted garlic, some fresh grated parmesan cheese, and oregano. I also seasoned with salt and a lot of pepper. Turned out great! Definitely a keeper and I'm not a big fan of mashed potatoes.

Honey Garlic BBQ Sauce II

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
Very easy to make and the taste is great. I don't think I got the correct "Cajun" seasoning and in the future I definitely won't add as much of what I purchased. I ended up making BBQ Pulled Chicken with this in the crock pot and it came out great. I'll make again.

Home-Style Brown Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
I omitted the chickpeas, eggs, and cashews and it still came out great.

High Temperature Eye-of-Round Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
The flavor was great and the meat was tender, but still a bit to rare for me. I'm going to try it again, but a bit longer the 7 min per pound at 475.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
While these cookies were super yummy, I definitely have issues with cooking time that I need to iron out the next time I make them. Yes, there WILL be a next time.

Dutch Apple Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
As is, I would agree that this bread would be very boring. Like others I added cinnamon to both the bread and the topping. I also doubled the topping and added 1/2 when I put it in the oven and then 1/2 over halfway through. The initial topping dropped nicely into the bread and the 2nd half made a nice crust. I used a Johnagold apple and the taste was just right.

Sorta Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2010
The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars is our cube steaks fell apart. The taste was great and we served it over mashed potatoes. We did chop up some cremini mushrooms and added those with the onions in layers. I also used bullion paste to make the stock. We didn't even need the flour in the end as it was thick enough. I'm really looking forward to leftovers.

Vanilla Ice Cream VII

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2010
Very good, but I'm glad I read the other reviews and lessened the eggs. I doubled the recipe, but I only used 1 quart of cream, and all the rest of the liquid I used half and half. I used 13 egg yolks total. Still creamy and tasty.. will definitely make again!
