Spinach Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2009
I substituted one cup of whole wheat flour for the white. I also used the dough setting on the bread machine and then baked it in the oven, but it was pretty dense. I wouldn't make it again.

Easy Slow Cooker Meatballs

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
I thought the flavor of the meatballs and sauce was excellent, especially since the recipe wasn't that difficult to make. I substituted BBQ sauce for the worcesture sauce and liked the addition. My only change for next time would be to roll the meatballs in breadcrumbs before frying since mine broke apart.

Chicken Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
I enjoyed the flavor of this quiche. My only problem was that the filling was a bit runny even after I baked it for a few extra minutes.

Oatmeal Banana Cinnamon Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
As previous reviewers have said, this recipe definitely needed more flour. I probably added another 1 1/2 cups. The banana flavor wasn't strong, but I think the taste and texture were good overall. I followed a previous reviewers advice and used the dough setting. I let the dough rest for 10 minutes, shaped it into a loaf, and then allowed it to rise for 30 minutes. I then baked the loaf for 30 minutes at 375.

Chicken Spaghetti Casserole I

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
I liked this recipe because it was simple and tasted great. I seasoned the chicken with garlic powder and used frozen mixed vegetables rather than green pimentos. I also added italian seasoning, basil, and oregeno. Next time, I might add some salsa and sour cream.

Buttery Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
This was an easy recipe to prepare and the dough was easy to handle when I removed it from the bread machine. I will likely make these rolls again. Like previous commenters suggested, I brushed the rolls with butter prior to baking. I should have added a tablespoon or tow of water during the first knead cycle.

Country Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
This was a vry simple recipe to prepare and was quite tasty. I definitely recommend a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Also, I found that I needed to bake the dumplings a bit longer since they were still crunchy after 30 minutes.

Southwestern Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
This was delicious and simple to prepare. I added a few tablespoons of BBQ sauce, some soy sauce, and mixed vegetables. I also followed other commenters recommendations and added extra garlic salt, some garlic powder, and chili powder. It was wonderful served with tortilla chips and sour cream.

Herbed Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2009
As previous posters stated, this is an easy recipe to prepare, but it doesn't have much flavor. Even when I doubled the spices, I thought it needed something more. Still, I would probably make this again if pressed for time and short on ingredients.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
I think this should have been baked a bit longer as the apples I used were still crunchy. I added some crushed cinnamon graham crackers for extra flavor. I would probably also double the topping next time. Otherwise, this is a great recipe!

Simple Waldorf Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
I wish I had read the other reviews first. This was a tasty salad, but would have been better with sugar, extra apples/celery, and apple cider vinegar.

Slow Cooker Split Pea Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
I will definitely make this again; it was WONDERFUL. I followed previous reviews and used 6 cups of chicken broth and 1 cup of water, rather than the chicken bouillon and 10 cups of water. I kept everything else the same and had no regrets.

Never Fail Biscuits

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
The dough was easy to work with. The problem was probably my oven, but these burned on the bottom and didn't really brown on the top.

The Best Banana Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
This was an easy banana bread to make, but it wasn't an award-winning recipe. I might make it again if pressed for time. My main complaint is that it wasn't moist enough and the flavor wasn't amazing. Still, this is a good basic recipe.

Creamy Banana Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2009
This tasted great, but it didn't bake well. The top burned by the time the inside was done.

Slow Cooker Pineapple Pork Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2010
This was excellent. My boyfriend and I LOVED it. We agree that it's a keeper, both because it's easy and it tastes good. I followed some of the previous commenter's advice: 1. I used canned whole cranberry sauce, which I first blended in a food processor. 2 I used a 3 1/2 lb pork roast. 3. I sprinkled the meat with thyme, garlic powder, dried onions, onion salt, pepper, soy sauce, and brown sugar. 4. I cooked the roast on low for 2 hours and high for 2 hours, flipping it over once.

Rich Penne Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2010
I followed other's advice and used cream cheese, rather than half-and-half. I also substituted chicken for the sausage and diced tomatoes for the stewed ones. This recipe was easy to make and tasted OK, but not superb.
