Busy Mom Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2009
I made this, and took everyone else's changes into consideration, except the ones that thought it was too sweet. I LOVE sweet and sugary. When I boiled the peaches, I added 1/8 tsp of cinnamon, and 1/8 cup of brown sugar. Also, when it came time to sprinkle the sugar on top at the end, I added 1/8 cup of brown sugar to the white sugar. This, by far, was the best peach cobbler ever! My kids really loved it too!

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2009
I love this recipe. This is a staple at any carry-in now, I've even had someone ask me to make it just so he can take it home. I make it at home all the time too, for Sunday's when the Colts play. When making it for myself, I add more hot sauce, but for anyone else, I go by the recipe. Not everyone likes it as hot as I do.

Apple Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2009
I chose this recipe to make for my sons 1st grade class. Thinking it made 12 muffins, I doubled it, since he only needed 20. Much to my surprise on the double check, it made 18 - which worked since I wanted to have at least 1. These are SUPER! My 4 year old loves them, and my 1st grader's class now wants him to bring snack EVERY DAY! I left off the crumble topping too, since I had to transport, and opted for a creme cheese icing instead. I will definitely hang onto this one.

Pork Chop and Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
I was hoping for a slightly different taste than just the soup. Barely tasted the cheese. It was good though.

Basic Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
Was soooo good! I used this on top of Apple Pumpkin Muffins in place of a streusel type topping, and that made all the difference. This does make a rather large amount, but I can always bake something else to put it on.

Chip Chicken Lollipops

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
I didn't use the skewers because giving pointy sticks to my 2 boys, ages 4 and 6 is just begging for a trip to the ER. I used plain curvy Lay's on chicken strips for my eldest, and Spicy Nacho Doritos on strips for my youngest. My 6 year announced that this was "The Best Chicken Ever" and "better than McNuggets".

Witches' Brew

So fun! I should have made 2 of them, or even 3, but I wasn't expecting the hand to melt so fast. The punch itself tasted like plain apple juice.

Slow Cooker Chicken Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
I made 1 change, added mushrooms to the soup mixture. When I was little, I remember detesting stuffing, but since I also didn't like ranch then and I do now, I figured I'd give the stuffing a try again. I shouldn't have. I should have gone with one reviewers idea of adding the cheesy potatoes on top. The stuffing over powered every other taste. I couldn't taste the swiss cheese or the ham. The chicken itself was fine, and really moist, but the stuffing....

Cucumber Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
This is so fast and easy - although I hate halving grapes. My kids don't like many vegetables, so hiding a cucumber in this was pretty ingenious. They are eating it now, and have no idea there's a vegetable in it! I used almonds instead of walnuts, and had to leave out the parsley, I forgot it when I went to the store. But the "dressing" is just great!

Baked Taco Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
Very very good. I baked at 425 until the juices ran clear because I had something else in the oven at the same time, but it saved me from having to turn on the broiler at the end though. Will definitely make again, but I think next time I might cut back on the flour and add another packet of taco seasoning.

Sarah Contona's Sweet Potato Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
I have never liked sweet potatoes. But I was bound and determined to find a way to fix them so that my kids would at least try them. This is the recipe for that! Now, I like sweet potatoes too! But they have to be in pie form! I did use a premade crust, because I cannot make a graham cracker crust that holds together, but it was the filling that was the star at Thanksgiving dinner.

Nutmeg Cookie Logs

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
OMG! This cookie is so simple, I didn't even have to make a trip to the store for anything. And WOW! These cookies, with the icing, have the perfect taste for Christmas. I'm taking them for dinner on Christmas Eve, and I should wait to get feedback before reviewing, but it doesn't matter what anyone else tells me, I'm making these cookies again and again.
