Turkey Breakfast Sausage

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2014
I was looking for a good recipe to make my own sausage and this one is a GREAT starter recipe. I used all of the ingredients with the exception of the brown sugar. (Watching our sugar intake) However with that said, I replaced that with apple pie spice, dried fennel seed, and a touch of paprika. Those spices have natural sweetness to them. Since ground turkey can be dry due to the lack of fat, I patted the sausage out and allowed them to rest in the refrigerator over night to tenderize and soak up all of the flavors. The sausage came out great!!! I cooked them on a non-stick griddle with a touch of EVOO and they came out yummy!!! Thanks for sharing this recipe!!

Daddy Mack's Oysters

Great Recipe! I celebrated my father's birthday with a seafood night and the butter was a hit! Hits the spot with steamed/grilled shrimp, oysters and crab meat! Will definitely use this recipe again.

Easy Granola Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2009
OMG! This recipe was a hit with my husband. He LOVED them! I added dried cherries instead of cranberries and used fat free condensed milk but they turned out great! Very easy to make, very tasty, will make again. The chocolate and cherries were very good together. Thanks for sharing!

Key Lime Pie - Low Carb Version

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2009
Wonderful recipe idea, however I changed up the recipe just a bit. Instead of regular cream cheese I used cheesecake flavored cream cheese. I also added splenda brown sugar to the crust recipe instead of the regular splenda. I made this using sugar free cherry jello since my husband loves cherries and he LOVED IT! I even topped the pie with sugar free cherry pie filling and it turned out great! The pie consistancy was very light and smooth. (You definitely have to allow the jello to completely dissolve though because it gels quickly and makes chucks.) I will definitely try this recipe with other flavors and the crust recipe is a definite keeper! I plan to try that crust with other no bake pie recipes in the future. Thanks for sharing!

Quick Quiche

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2014
Very good recipe, HOWEVER... I agree with some of the reviews that spoke about the cooking time for this Quiche. The Quiche did not set in the middle with a 35 minute cooking time, I had to cook it for an extra 15 minutes. Overall, it is a tasty quick recipe. I used triple cheddar cheese instead of swiss, and because I have eliminated white flour from my pantry (due to a wheat/whey allergy), I used coconut flour instead. I have used this recipe with both flours and they both need that extra 10-15 mins of cooking time. I also added 2 more eggs for a total of 6. I added baby sweet red and orange bell peppers, chives, and mushrooms as well. Very yummy Quiche, and a great low carb or gluten free option for those who can't do crust. Thanks for sharing!

Smashed Cauliflower

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2011
Good recipe, however I took the hints from other reviews and I tweeked it just a bit. Instead of the chicken broth, I used 2% milk. It really made it a little creamier and it tasted alot more like mashed potatoes that way. The milk blended better with the cheeses and the butter element. Other than that, GREAT idea, will use from now on, good substitute for mashed potatoes

Silver Dollar Pancakes (Gluten-free)

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2013
This recipe was good for gluten free cooking, however I had to tweak it a little. The batter in its original state was very thick, so I added 1/4 cup of Almond Milk and the consistency was great. I also added a tbsp of brown sugar and 1/4 cup fresh blueberries because the batter lacked flavor. I added an additional tsp of baking soda so they would rise. (I've been baking and cooking with almond flour for 6 years now, just lessons learned over the years) The final product came out great. I used blueberry agave to top each pancake for my family and fresh fruit and whip cream for me. They came out delicious. Will experiment with this recipe again. Thanks for sharing
