About this Cook
I have been baking and cooking since childhood. My great-grandparents came from the old country and passed down their recipes to my grandparents. My grandmother was an excellent pie and cake maker. She baked for my farmer grandfather everyday. My mom was a good homestyle, country cook. My dad was into gourmet cooking. My aunt was a gourmet chef, who had a cooking show and was friends with James Beard. So I was exposed to cooking and baking from both sides of the family...especially ethnic dishes...German and Polish. As and adult, I look to carry on the traditions of my family and my husband's family. I have two small children who already love to cook and bake with both my husband and I. We are both 'foodies' and everyone who knows us, knows we are always experimenting with new recipes all the time!

Baking: Cookies, brownies, scones, rolls.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am Polish and German, so pierogi, golabki(stuffed cabbage), making sausage - my husbands family has a generational sausage recipe.
My cooking triumphs
I have gained quite a reputation in my MOMs Club for being the "best" baker. Everyone requests that I make their favorites. I am honored that I have been given that status!
My cooking tragedies
Forgetting to put either baking powder or baking soda in something.....result: flat and hard!

Beef Pot Roast
Per lots of reviewer's suggestions, I added about 1 cup of beef broth before putting the roast in the oven. It turned out very flavorful and tender. I roasted it for a little while longer and let it rest for about 30 minutes. I would definitely make this again!

Fish Tacos
The sauce for these tacos is out of this world! Sometimes we fry the fish, sometimes we just broil or grill it...either way, it's fantastic!

Easy Pizza Sauce III
I like my sauce spicier, so I added more red pepper flakes, more oregano, more garlic and more garlic salt...plus I added alot of Italian Seasoning as well. Very quick and easy! I will definitely make this again!
