Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2012
This is one of the BEST recipes that I have gotten off of this site! I have been looking for a chicken tortilla soup that tastes like the one I order at the Islands Restaurant. This is it! Instead of the beer, I use chicken broth. I use 2 cans of diced tomatoes and 2 cans of Ro-tel. I used all kidney beans because I like them. One time I substituted one tablespoon of chili powder for the taco seasoning and added a few "tamed jalapena peppers in a jar." I added shredded mozzarella cheese to thicken it. Delish! I won't be ordering this soup at The Islands anymore. Thank you RaisinKane aka Patti!

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

This is the BEST coleslaw recipe that I have ever come across! It tastes just like that famous chicken places coleslaw. I made it with less sugar and used celery seed instead of poppy seeds. I ate the whole bowl in one sitting! I plan on making more today. Thank you Sandi for this recipe!

Hungarian Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2011
This recipe is Awesome! I have made it twice now in the past two weeks. I used 2 cans of vegetable broth one time. The next time I used two cans of beef broth. I love mushrooms and onions so I add extra amounts. Baby portabellas gave this soup a great texture.

Easy Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2011
This is one of the BEST recipes I've come across for chicken and dumplings! It's pure comfort food! I cook the onion, celery and carrots right in the broth. For the dumplings, I follow Bisquick's recipe for those. Cook them in the simmering broth for 10 minutes uncovered then 10 minutes covered. This way, the consistency turns out to be more of a stew then a soup. I would rate it a TEN if I could. Thank you Nancy!

Chicken In Sour Cream

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
First of all, the sauce was too thick. I added some half and half to thin it out. When I took it out of the oven, it did not even look good. Yucky color of brown. The taste was good though. I would not make it again.

Beef Burgundy III

This turned out really good. I did not have Burgundy wine, so I used Cabernet and that worked out fine.

Beer-Boiled Shrimp

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2010
I started out to make this recipe. I had the beer on the counter and wasn't sure if I wanted to add the onions. I ended up using garlic butter (bought at a store called Sprouts)cooked the shrimp in this butter. Then I added lemon juice. It was devine, so I guess I changed the recipe with out even trying. Sorry.

I just got done making these 15 minutes ago! They are the BEST! I'm mailing my sister in Wisconsin a care package for Christmas. She will be receiving some of these along with other goodies.

Apple Dumpling Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2009
I was always afraid to bake with apples. I don't know why. This was very easy and very delicious! Serve warm with vanilla ice cream. I won't be afraid to bake with apples again, and will be making this for company.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2009
I have made this several times. Pot roast comes out moist and tender. It makes it's own gravy, very tasty. Can't go wrong with this recipe!
