Best Spinach Dip Ever

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2010
Loved this! Couldn't find leek soup but I feel the lipton vegetable soup mix worked great. I used 2 pkgs because I felt one wasnt flavorful enough. I used about 3/4 of the spinach and I thought it was the best stuff I had ever eaten. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe. I am sure I will be making again soon.

Fluffy Peanut Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2010
I have no clue how people are not getting perfectly fluffy frosting if directions are followed to a T. I did not change a thing and i am so happy with the results. Do NOT use margarine. Margarine does not have the same consistency of butter and your frosting will not be as fluffy. Also it says to add milk AS NEEDED. I only needed about a tablespoon of the milk. If you use real butter and milk only as needed instead of the full 3T, than your frosting should turn out well. I made the too much chocolate cake from this site, with homeade chocolate frosting and bordered the cake and wrote all over the cake with this PB frosting. It was the perfect combo.

Creamy Caramel Flan

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2010
I guess I was expecting flan. The end result is a cheesecake. It is not like flan at all, the title is misleading.

Broccoli and Cheddar Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
I stuck to the main copycat version of Panera's broccoli and cheese soup. Used 1/2 onion, no garlic powder, used cracked black pepper, used 1/2 pound fresh broccoli, 2 cups broth, 1/4 cup flour, 2 cups fat free half and half. Butter and cheese stayed the same. Before adding cheese I also pureed half broccoli in blender. My whole family agrees this way is 5 stars!

Easy Never Forgotten Guacamole

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
I thought this recipe was okay. Its a 4 star for me, because I thought it needed something extra like tomatoes or more spices. I couldnt put my finger on it but something was missing. I loved the creaminess though. This is not for people looking for authentic guacamole. One of the top reviews stated this is the only way its made in texas. I am from San Antonio born and raised and never have come across guacamole with cream cheese. So I am not sure what the previous reviwer was talking about. But it was different and still tasted really good. Great for football!

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
I thought this frosting was okay. I like my frosting thick and frosting like, and this was like cream cheese flavored whipped cream. Mine didnt turn out runny at all. I think the key to it not being runny is beating the whipped cream not just until soft peaks form, but until it is thick thick. Then most importantly use POWDERED sugar (i used 1 cup). I think the submitter must have ment powdered not reg white sugar. But that made all the difference in the world. Mine was light, and airy like cool whip but thicker than cool whip. It would be fantastic on a strawberry cake. I made it for a banana cake and thought it was just ok.

Cookies 'n Cream Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
This was really easy and delicious. The secret to not having a crumbling problem with this cake is to add a packet of dream whip to the batter. When it bakes it keeps it moist but makes it a little more dense. It was perfect. I aslo added 2 cups oreo crumbs. I have baked this as a layer cake and as a sheet cake and both work well. The sheet cake takes alot less work because you can just frost and go, so i usually just do that.

Roasted Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2009
This is awesome! Perfect for cold weather. I have made it twice. Once with low sodium broth and once with reg broth. The low sodium broth tasted more bland to me, and I ended up having to add extra salt. So I would suggest just using the regular broth. I also added extra cup carrots, and cup of frozen peas. Thanks for sharing this. It really does remind me of the inside of a pot pie :)

Winter Fruit Salad with Lemon Poppyseed Dressing

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2009
This was really delicious. I gave 4 star because although it was very good nothing compares to the strawberry spinach salad on this site. Had I tasted this one first I probably would give 5 stars. But I will probably make again someday. thanks

Dora's Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2009
I followed everything exactly and my dough is too sticky to roll out. I cut the dough in half and rolled each half in wax paper in the fridge and I am hoping that tomorrow they will be workable because the dough tastes great. Just so far they are not working as cut outs. Maybe its because I am in Texas, and the weather is different? I dont know, so I will edit my review tomorrow if they turn out. For now they are 3 stars. If it was on taste alone I would give 5 stars though.

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2009
This soup was awesome. I have made it a few times and for some weird reason it always tastes better when made with bullion cubes instead of chicken stock from the box/can. I normally would not use bullion but with this particular recipe I do. Also do not try to make this healthier by using milk instead of half and half. It doesn't taste the same and it doesn't give it the creamy consistency that the cream gives it. Trust me I already tried both ways...both were good but the original recipe with half and half is to die for good. I also cut the basil in half. I always double this soup and my husband and I alone go through it within a few days tops. Thanks for posting.

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2009
These were sooo good. My batter was perfect and poured right into the cake pan. My batter wasnt dry at all. I used a microplane to shred my zucchini so it was super fine and doing it this way really put a ton of moisture into my brownies. I got a cake consistancy though not brownies at all. I followed the directions to a T. Next time I am going to shred my zucchini a normal size instead of shredding it so fine, and see if I get more of a brownie texture. But cake or brownie theese were sooooo moist and the frosting was very good as well. Thank you for posting these. I will definatly make them again!

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2009
This is great! I made this for my husband and parents, and was a little worried that 8 ounces was not going to fill up a 9x13 in pan. But it worked out well. Next time I will use a smaller pan though, and there definatly will be a next time. Thanks so much for sharing this.

Mormon Champagne

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2009
This was really good! I will never buy sparkling grape juice again. This tastes very similar except better. It makes exactly 1 gallon for the same price you would buy 1 of those little champagne bottles of sparkling juice. I used Fresca and welch's white grape juice and threw them both into a 1 gallon pitcher. Quick and simple. Thanks for sharing!

Parmesan Orzo

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
I really like this. It had a lot of flavor, and it was very simple. For my personal taste I added a tablespoon more of cream cheese and Parmesan cheese. It is one of those recipes where you can eyeball all the measurements and taste as you go, and have it still turn out fantastic! Also the pimientos shouldn't be skipped they added a really nice flavor. Thanks for sharing.

Coconut Poke Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2009
This is by far one of the best cakes on this site. I love love love coconut so this was perfect. I first tried this about 2 years ago and have made it many times since then. Everyone loves it, and I always get great reviews when I make it. I love the recipe exactly the way it is, wouldn't change a thing.
