Garlic Croutons

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2011
I normally do not like croutons, but these were great! I had unexpected dinner guests and needed croutons for my caesar salad... these were quick, easy and delicious. I used whatever bread I had on hand. I will now be making croutons for my salads! And this sure beats buying a box and having them go stale in my pantry!!!!! :) Thanks for the recipe!!!

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2011
I added more apples than the recipe called for and less of the sugar mixture. I used the exact amount of water in the recipe and it was perfect! The sugar caramelized and it was yummy :) Will definitely be making this again!!!

White Texas Sheet Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2011
Tried this with some minor adjustments. The first time with half vanilla extract and half almond, the second time with all vanilla. Both times, DELISH, rave reviews and no leftovers :o) Oh, and I also omitted the walnuts... just wanted plain white cake! YUM!

Whole Wheat, Oatmeal, and Banana Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2011
AMAZING. LOVE THESE! And my kids (2 & 4) did, too! I did add a little sprinkle of chocolate chips to the batter for fun :) But, they did not even eat them with syrup! I also put in an extra banana as mine were small. Will make these again anyday!!!

Banana Trifle

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2010
AWESOME and soooo easy! Not too sweet but flavourful and delish! I used a marble pound cake. I did use way more bananas (3-4) and had a layer of sliced bananas instead of mixing into the pudding. Next time I would like to try with a drizzle of chocolate inbetween and on top. It would also be yummy using strawberries and chocolate pudding/ cake as a variation!

Slow Cooker Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2010
Thanks for the great base recipe! My whole family LOVED it! I did make a few changes... I added more celery and used at least 3 cups of frozen corn. I processed about 2 cups of corn before adding to give it a more creamy texture. I melted the margarine and mixed it with 3-4 TBSP of flour to help thicken as well. As others suggested, I added the ham near the end. It turned out great and I would definitely make this easy recipe again!

BBQ Sauerkraut Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2010
I thought the recipe was great! Super easy, yet tasty. My husband and I both loved it. My children, on the other hand, did not (age 18mos and 3 yrs). I also added a little more tomato sauce but next time would maybe add a can of crushed or stewed tomatoes as well. Thanks for the recipe!!!

Chicken, Asparagus, and Mushroom Skillet

Reviewed: May 24, 2010
My husband cooked this for supper tonight... SOO YUMMMY!! I couldn't stop eating it! One change we would make it to try it next time with less butter. It was a bit oily. He also said that he kept adding lemon juice as the liquid in the pan dried up. Excellent flavour... my children also devoured it (3 yrs and 1 yr). Thanks for the recipe, we'll be making this one again!!!

Cinnamon-Peach Cottage Cheese Pancakes

Reviewed: May 24, 2010
Very good recipe! My kids are picky cottage cheese eaters, so first I pureed it until smooth (or you could try Ricotta). I would also like to try adding more peaches and other fruit to this recipe!

Roasted Vegetables

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
This recipe is similar to what I make using my grill basket on the BBQ in the summer. We love it! Even my 9 month old was shovelling it down :) I didn't have any squash or white potato, so I added some zuchini, mushroons and parsnips instead. I also did not have fresh herbs, but found the dried worked well. Used same amount in tsp. This is definitely a keeper and is very versatile. It will work with whatever you have in your kitchen!!!

Yummy!!! The best part is that this recipe uses common ingredients that are a staple in my house. Very quick, simple, and kid friendly!
