On the weekend of February 23 - 24, 2013

Sixty two amazing Allrecipeeps joined forces to make and photograph a total of 333 faceless recipes!

That's right!  48 hours of non stop cooking fun = 333 recipes that are now sporting pretty pictures.

What a wonderful community effort.

You guys ROCK!

Here is the link to the February Faceless pinterest board that encompasses the entire month of February.  February Faceless Pinterest Board

Although we don't have another 'frenzy' planned we are working on recipes throughout the month of March.  If you would like to join the March Pinterest board let me know and I will add you.

We are about mid way through the month of March and have already pinned 152 recipes this month.  March Madness Faceless Pinterest Board

Will we exceed February's total of 657 recipes pinned?   We set the bar pretty high in February, this will be tough to beat.

Way to go peeps, you ROCK!

Wow! Just, wow! And, like I said before, lots of loved ones reaped the benefits of that frenzy (= I loved Paula's faceless tea party, and the fact that Doc was inspired to have Faceless Fridays!

Mar. 14, 2013 2:56 pm
BTW, Lara. Congratulations on your picture on the front page. I love it. That is one Big Honking Margarita! http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/A-Big-Honkin-Margarita/Detail.aspx

Stunning what all you fabulous cooks accomplished in such a short amount of time. It was fun to watch and inspired me to cook out of my many favorite cooking magazines.

Thanks for stopping in Marie. I go in fits and starts with the faceless recipes. Although there are a lot of good recipes on this site, it is nice to move away from it from time to time and make other recipes that sound good.

Mar. 14, 2013 3:40 pm
Hi Bibi! There is POWER in numbers! What an fun project to be a part of.

Mar. 14, 2013 3:41 pm

Hi Mis7up. I almost missed you and Barb up there! You are correct, this community deserves a big round of applause. :)

Mar. 14, 2013 3:45 pm
Gammaray! Wasn't Paula's idea terrific? My 'eaters' are wondering when the next frenzy might happen. I wish they were as willing to do the dishes as they are to eat!

Mar. 14, 2013 4:06 pm
That's a lot of cookin'!

Mar. 14, 2013 4:09 pm

You faceless frenzy fanatics are quite the inspiration. Although I couldn't participate I enjoyed all your creations!

Mar. 14, 2013 5:40 pm
Hi SANDRA_92083 - I added you! Is 92083 your zip? If so I think you are very close to me! We need to get you involved in our Southern California round ups! We always have a blast, I am sure you would too.

Mar. 14, 2013 5:42 pm
Joey! You have been cranking out those faceless recipes right and left. We will do another Frenzy - but not this month....we need to recover! In the meantime, keep up the good work.

Mar. 14, 2013 5:44 pm
KGora - maybe you can join us next time! I know that life can get in the way! Thanks for cheering us on!

Mar. 14, 2013 5:44 pm
Hi Penny, I just love the Faceless Frenzy project. It's such a wonderful way to highlight new or forgotten recipes. I wish I could participate, but right now I am unable. Maybe in the future. In the meantime, I am enjoying very much getting to know these faceless wonders a bit better by the reviews and beautifully taken photos. Good job well done by all.

Mar. 14, 2013 5:46 pm
Hi Candice - this frenzy stuff isn't always doable - I am glad you are following along. Isn't it fun to see it evolve? We have unearthed some keepers, for sure!

Mar. 14, 2013 6:37 pm
Wowzers! That's a lot of faceless recipes! While my contribution to the frenzy was miniscule compared to you ladies, I had so much fun participating, and watching all of you post your results throughout the day. Thanks again for making me feel welcome, Penny! I am so proud to be part of this fantastic group of foodies!

Mar. 14, 2013 6:51 pm
The Frenzies are so much fun! Its great to be "cooking together" with friends across the nation!

Mar. 14, 2013 6:53 pm
Hi Kim - your contribution was certainly was not miniscule! Every recipe counts and they all add up! Look at what we did, one recipe at a time! WOOT WOOT. Thank you for joining in with the fun! We will do it again, are you game?

Mar. 14, 2013 6:58 pm
~lissa~ You said it best! Cooking together, with friends, all across the Nation! These event bring us all together - from all walks of life - all age groups - all interests. When we do these, we are a true community! Thanks for dragging your VERY pregnant body to the kitchen!

Mar. 14, 2013 7:11 pm
What a group effort! I have really found some keepers. One of them I went to have some more of today only to find that DW took it to work to pass around. Think she liked it?

Baking Nana-those numbers are simply amazing. I enjoyed the crazy weekend of marathon cooking.

Mar. 14, 2013 7:34 pm
bd.weld - you are right, this was an amazing group effort! Every single recipe counts! Don't you love those "keepers" I have found more than a few of those. Your wife has good taste!

Mar. 14, 2013 7:36 pm
Lela - thanks for joining us! What a fun weekend this was. We will do it again...in the meantime let's just plug through the other 9,000 + faceless recipes that are out there.

Mar. 14, 2013 7:36 pm
I was not nearly as productive as the first Faceless Frenzy this time, but I still had a blast.

Mar. 14, 2013 7:41 pm
Hi Mauigirl - I didn't do as many either but others stepped up to the plate. It was a lot of fun, but NEXT time I will prepare better, announce earlier and have a better game plan!

Mar. 14, 2013 7:42 pm
Oh - and I need to clean out my faceless folder - many are no longer candidates! :)

Mar. 14, 2013 8:06 pm

That is impressive! I agree with Lissa. I love the fact that so many people participated and it was a great team effort with so many getting into the fray, making the experience that much richer. Congratulations Baking Nana for putting together such a successful event. It was mesmerizing watching all the recipes being completed and watching the Pinterest page grow. I’m so glad I was able to participate. Thanks Baking Nana!

Mar. 15, 2013 6:12 am
That is really great. I had fun even though it was a bad weekend I still found recipes to make. I went through my faceless folder yesterday and had to delete so many of them since they now have a picture... I can't wait for the next one.

Mar. 15, 2013 6:17 am
I am so behind the 8 ball on this one. Darn. I'll try to catch up. Does faceless mean cook from a recipe that doesn't have a picture, then take a picture of it after you made it? Does it have to be from the AR site? Sorry. I know it's like someone coming in after you've explained something in great detail.

Mar. 15, 2013 6:32 am
Hi Cookin'Cyn - Yes, there are a ton of recipes that need a picture and new ones added every week. The goal is to make the recipe, photo it, post the pic to the recipe and to the pinterest board. Reviews are nice to but trying to review while cooking, cleaning and taking pictures is tough so I tend to go back later and catch up on the reviews.

Mar. 15, 2013 6:35 am
Sherri and Deb C - we will do another frenzy. It is a lot of fun, isn't it? What I find interesting is that we really didn't bump into each other too much.

Mar. 15, 2013 6:41 am
I had a foodie friend visiting that weekend, she said "yes, let's do it," and we had a great time in the kitchen catching up and cooking. We started cooking at 6:00 AM on Saturday. Fun, fun time.

Mar. 15, 2013 6:50 am
Thanks Nana! I'll hop on and see what I can come up with!

Mar. 15, 2013 7:08 am
Cookin'Cyn - if you have a pinterest account, give me your name and I will add you to the board so you can pin to it.

Mar. 15, 2013 7:09 am
lutzflcat - I am glad your friend was there to share in this with you. She must be a foodie! Most people would not understand how cooking all day could be 'fun'. :)

Mar. 15, 2013 7:23 am
Wow, great numbers! It was a blast for me. I would tell DH the number of pins every few hours. By dinnertime he was asking me what the number was and what I was making next! I created a menu for the faceless, need to update that menu and start looking at adding more for the next event. Thanks again BN!

Mar. 15, 2013 7:55 am
One of my March Faceless made front page today! I'm thrilled to death about that! Putting Faces on a recipe really does give it more exposure! Congrats to you too, BN for your front page photo and thank you for doing all this!

BN - I didn't read through all these posts (although I did read the blog early on) so I hope this hasn't already been asked. I'm new to Pinterest. I have a photo to add to the Faceless Board for March. I have posted the photo on Allrecipes. Is there a way to post it from AR to Pinterest?

About Me
Every morning my granddaughter calls and says, "Good morning Nana. Whatcha doing? Are you baking Nana?" Hence my name, Baking Nana. I love to bake bread and never get tired of it. Yeast is additive! Visit me at BakingNana.com If you would like to contact me directly please use the 'Contact Me' on my site. http://bakingnana.com/contact-me/
My favorite things to cook
I go through phases, Asian for a while then Italian then on to something else. I love experimenting with new flavors and different spices. Some times my husband will ask if we will ever have "ordinary" food again. Once in a while I have to toss him a burger just to keep quite! Actually, he is a good sport and my favorite taste tester.
My favorite family cooking traditions
In our family if it is your birthday you get to choose the menu. We have had some really interesting meals. In March we have 5 birthdays so we do one big party - what a crazy menu that is! Christmas dinner is very traditional. Sausage rolls, Prime Rib, Yorkshire Pudding, gravy, Green beans with bacon, Mashed Potatoes (the really fattening kind) and trifle for dessert. If I were to dare to omit any of those items I would be lynched.
My cooking triumphs
Mastering really great bread is probably my biggest triumph. I am always so pleased when I create a perfect Asian dish.
My cooking tragedies
There have been a few but none so horrible that I can't laugh about them now.
