You know what they say......

"MOM!  How can you laugh? It's not funny!"

You know what they say about pay back?  Karma?
It is easy to laugh now....I wasn't always laughing, but I wish I had.

You see, 'Nobody' used to live here.
'Nobody' was a trouble maker, reckless and careless.
'Nobody' lived with us for a long time.

 "Who has the remote?"
Not me, not me, not me!
'Nobody' stole the batteries out of the remote & hid it too.
Imagine that!

"Who splattered egg yolk all over the cabinets?
Not me, not me, not me!
 'Nobody' did it!

Let me tell you, 'Nobody' created a bunch of havoc in our home through out the years.  Crayons in the dryer, broken windows, Cherrios is the VCR.  Do you know that 'Nobody' even planted an illegal plant in my tomato garden?

Imagine that!

Fortunately, 'Nobody' moved out!

No worries though - 'Nobody' is alive and well.....
....he lives with my kids!

'Fraid Nobody still lives here with his twin Dunno.
Jan. 26, 2012 4:12 pm
OH - Dunno! I know him! He still stops in for a visit from time to time. :)
Jan. 26, 2012 4:12 pm
Very funny!
Jan. 26, 2012 4:18 pm
Thanks for stopping in Marie. I can laugh now!
Jan. 26, 2012 4:29 pm
Oh, I forgot about Ms. "Fine!" She lived with us for a long time too....along with Mr. "Nothin". :)
Jan. 26, 2012 4:43 pm
Of course, whatever must be one of their cousins! Then there is the one that had the unpronounceable name that was always gesticulated with a sigh and a shrug.
Jan. 26, 2012 4:51 pm
OH Gosh Mike, how could I have forgotten the cousins! "WhaatEver" and 'Whathisname" LOL :)
Jan. 26, 2012 5:30 pm
Uh huh Nobody lives with me too. And ButI also lives here. He always has something to say. :) Very funny blog!
Jan. 26, 2012 5:35 pm
Oh Rae! I forgot about But ... but ... butI ! LOL.... They still visit on occasion.
Jan. 26, 2012 6:16 pm
I was a "not me" and blamed it on the dog. But then there were no vcr's or remotes. My dad still accuses me of taking his tools and I moved out 45 years ago. "Not Me!"
Jan. 26, 2012 6:47 pm
LOL --- It took a big family "dinner" to bring 'NOT ME" to light....40 years after the fact I confessed to putting sugar in the salt shaker....Opps - "Sorry Dad, it was ME...." I thought Pam, the salt freak, would GET it....I forgot Dad got up and ate eggs first. Opps! bd.weld .... As for the tools....I still wonder where they went.....

Nobody's brother, Idunno and cousin, Huh lived with us. That was in addition to my son's imaginary friend, Irving who lived in the drawer of my spice cabinet. It was quite crowded in my kitchen LOL!
Jan. 26, 2012 7:13 pm
OMG, I know his cousins, Did Not and Did Too, they both used to live here. Now we just have Did Not, Did Too graduated fire school.

Love it! as his twin lives at our house!
Jan. 26, 2012 9:48 pm
LOL, I seem to have the evil twin 'the eye roller' 'I don't know' never lived here, I evicted him years ago, would never put up with that answer. I do fear that even when the kids all leave home, I will still have a 'not me' living somewhere in the house as long as RNGrampa is around. He seems to feed and nurture the not me.

Nobody and Not Me lived in my house for a lot of years, too - but moved out last year when my kids did (=
Jan. 27, 2012 3:34 am
So used to hang around our house. All the other relatives visited from time to time as well. Right now only Huh is here now. Great blog! Very funny!
Jan. 27, 2012 6:08 am
Oh lol!! I think I can confess to using so many of these phrase.. My poor parents.. never did the sigh and shrug or the eye rolling tho. I'd have got slapped!! Good times.. Not looking forward to it when I have kids tho.. But then those things are a long way off for me..

So few in our household that Nobody went to other homes to live...maybe yours :)
Jan. 27, 2012 6:24 am
I still have the "who knows" living here with me. Who left the front door open? Who knows! Who left their socks on the floor? Who knows! Great blog!
Jan. 27, 2012 6:37 am
How about Door Slammer? Isn't your house so much more quiet without all these uninvited guests? Mine is and I marvel at the quiet.

"Someone" must be related to "Nobody." Someone is still here in my house. That "Someone" always loses things, doesn't like to clean up messes, and always doing something he/she is not supposed to be doing.
Jan. 27, 2012 11:25 am
When I was growing up "Dunno" used to mess with the thermostat during the summers. Turns out he was doing that as a favor to my brother. ;)
Jan. 27, 2012 11:41 am
"Someone" definitely comes in and out of our house too! Especially when we can't find things. "Someone" stole it...
Jan. 27, 2012 7:12 pm
BBBBAAAHHHAAA . Pot in you maters was what really got me rollin!! Thanks BN for a gut buster.
Jan. 27, 2012 7:59 pm
They've all been part of our household too! My DH never did like "Was Gunna" though. Was Gunna said he would take out the trash, pick up his clothes or feed the dog only after someone else, generally Mom or Dad, had already done it. He would very sincerely always exclaim "Hey Mom, I "Was Gunna" do that. Yeah, right!

About Me
Every morning my granddaughter calls and says, "Good morning Nana. Whatcha doing? Are you baking Nana?" Hence my name, Baking Nana. I love to bake bread and never get tired of it. Yeast is additive! Visit me at If you would like to contact me directly please use the 'Contact Me' on my site.
My favorite things to cook
I go through phases, Asian for a while then Italian then on to something else. I love experimenting with new flavors and different spices. Some times my husband will ask if we will ever have "ordinary" food again. Once in a while I have to toss him a burger just to keep quite! Actually, he is a good sport and my favorite taste tester.
My favorite family cooking traditions
In our family if it is your birthday you get to choose the menu. We have had some really interesting meals. In March we have 5 birthdays so we do one big party - what a crazy menu that is! Christmas dinner is very traditional. Sausage rolls, Prime Rib, Yorkshire Pudding, gravy, Green beans with bacon, Mashed Potatoes (the really fattening kind) and trifle for dessert. If I were to dare to omit any of those items I would be lynched.
My cooking triumphs
Mastering really great bread is probably my biggest triumph. I am always so pleased when I create a perfect Asian dish.
My cooking tragedies
There have been a few but none so horrible that I can't laugh about them now.
