Here we go again!
Breaking the rules and stirring it up.
Another Southern California AllRecipes gathering!
What a wonderful day!
We had all heard about North Woods Inn.
Famous for their salads and cheese bread.
Snow on the roof all year long.
This is where we met.
Good food, friendship and tons of laughter!
Here is Cathy Myers greeting our youngest member Tina.
and XRay Barb - Patty Cakes on the right.
Mauigirl - Cathy and Marianne
Yes, Mauigirl flew in from Las Vegas.
Cathy brought a basket of cookies.
Then Cathy surprised Mauigirl Julie.
Seems that Cathy got two of the magnets that Trishie sent from Ireland.
Cathy brought Julie's magnet!
Here is PattyCakes - touched by emotion.
Cathy gave her the necklace she is wearing.
Then of course there were more tears and hugs.
This is the restaurant.
Peanut shells on the floor and all.
& sister Gabriela
Check out the menu.
fighter Julie explains how she tracked down
and chased a con artist / thief from her neighborhood.
I am sure that guy is still wondering what happened!
OK - Redneck Gramma - who's purse belongs to whom?
is the happy AR crew.
Stirring it up in Covina, California.
Starting on the left: Noemi, Gabriela, Mauigirl Julie, Cathy Myers, PattyCakes, XRay Barb, Tina, Baking Nana, Marianne, Kathy (Keri's mom) and Keri.
Some pictures of the gifts that were brought and shared.
Julie brought us each an amazing spice rub and a recipe for 'Forever Roasted Pork.'
Here are the cookies that Cathy Myers brought.
Look what Lady Sparkle sent!
She is so talented.
Thank you, LS!
A little addendum:
“Take the good that comes to you.”
I try to remember these wise words that have made such an impact on me and accept, even welcome, the kindness of others and the good that is sent my way.
How many times do we push off another’s kindness or friendship?
How many times do we deny ourselves the most important things in life?
The things that make us happy? Why?
When planning for this gathering I could have said, "I need to stay home and pack or sort or clean or any number of things.'
I am SO glad I didn't pass up the chance to see all my AR foodie friends.
I came home - walking on air - tired from lack of sleep but energized beyond belief.
Thank you all for attending, for thinking of us, for sharing your lives, talents and adventures with us.
Knowing all of you has blessed and enriched my life.
You all bring me joy!
