My favorite things to cook
Right now I'm on an asian cooking extravaganza so it seems. Although generally I like well rounded cooking. Asian today, italian tomorrow, maybe some good ol' fashion german the next or even just american cheese burgers and home fries.
In the end everyone's happy and usually someone learns a thing or two in the kitchen with me. In a good way that is. :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every weekend my little man and I cook breakfast together, usually it's pancakes with bacon. It's a really nice way for him and I to have "our" time (usually cause everyone else sleeps in late and he and I are the only one's up).
But I think my all time favorite family tradition is getting together with my mom and sisters and making home made egg rolls. These are not your typical egg rolls however, they are huge, filled with ground beef, ginger, cabbage, carrots and spices that make the whole house smell wonderful. We sit around and fill them skins until they are about to burst! Yum
My cooking triumphs
Pulling off the Turkey feast at Thanksgiving to feed at least 40 hungry family and friends. It's wonderful though to see everyone happy and I get to host at my house, which I never thought would ever happen. LOL.
My cooking tragedies
I can't remember anything specific. I try to make the best out of mess if I can. But there have been times when I'm testing my own recipes that it fails. I think my biggest problem is learning how to measure! I am a touch of this, a bit of that kind of cook and when I use my method it always comes out great. Until I decide to write the recipe!
