Chef John's Chicken and Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2014
It is delicious. I only used 1/4 tsp of cayenne, though, as I have 2 young grandchildren to serve it to. I would say to start out with a smaller dose of cayenne, even for adults, and then go from there. Cayenne doesn't have a lot of flavor on its own, it is mostly heat. As for the prep time...it is always worth it to invest a little time in cooking...although I do understand time restraints.

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2014
This is an excellent meatloaf!! Try it as written the first time, then adjust it. I don't feel it needs any tweaking. It is delicious the way it is. I am not a new cook, either. I have raised 6 children and have been cooking since I was thirteen. Now I cook for my grandchildren. Meatloaf was a staple in our house, and I just like trying new varieties. This one is a definite keeper. It is moist, well seasoned, and most of all, kid friendly too. Yummmm......

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2014
THIS IS AWESOME!! Smooth and rich and delicious. It could be a base for a lot of imagination, but just like this, it is great too. I hate it when people give a rating based on what they added, or took away. I like to know how the recipe was...as written. It is not a fair review otherwise, whether the review is favorable or not. As written, this recipe is wonderful.

Down Home Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2013
This recipe is good, homestyle, comfort food. I like to dice the potatoes instead of slicing, and saute them for a few minutes before adding the other veggies. Then, I put a lid on and steam everything for a few minutes. This gives the sausage a chance to release all the nice juice and helps to tenderize the potatoes and other veggies without burning. It is delicious!!

This recipe is good the way it is. I use low sodium condensed soup. Thanks, Tesslynn for a good, comfort food recipe.

Japanese Onion Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2013
to those who said they ended up with watery soup...the recipe is not referring to liquid chicken stock, but a paste like concentrate that comes in a jar or plastic tub. If you cannot find it, substitute 3 or 4 chicken bouillon cubes, but the stock is definitely preferable. It is delicious and healthy!!

Summer Nights Eggplants

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2013
I think the reason most people think 4 cups of bread crumbs is too much is because the recipe should say FRESH bread crumbs. If you use the canister variety, it is too much. Also, since feta is not really a melting cheese, it is much better mixed in. I hate it when people review a recipe after they have a bunch of changes, so the only changes made were to mix in the feta. It is good just the way it is.

Shrim,Chicken or Pork Lo Mein

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2013
only 4 stars because in the recipe description, it says it has baby corn in it, but no baby corn is listed in the ingredients list. I hate people rating a recipe after they have made a bunch of changes, and this is good as it is, but I did cut the recipe down to 8 servings and used a small can of baby corn.

Queso con Carne

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2012
too much rotel tomatoes. It was very runny. Also, very spicy and i used the mild version of rotel. I think it would have been much better with only 2 cans of rotel, and another 4 ounces of cheese, but I believe in rating a recipe by the ORIGINAL recipe to give an honest review.

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2011
this recipe is excellent as is. Please, people....review the recipe as it is, and rate it as it is!! Adding or changing the ingredients alters the recipe, and therefore is not a true rating of the original recipe.
