Swimming Angels

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2011
This was soo good! I took the advice and scaled down the peanut butter to 1/4 cup for 2 servings. Also, I added a bit of Worcestershire sauce as well. Four stars because, as written, it would have been too much peanut butter and not enough tang! It was a great guide to an awesome meal, though!! This is a keeper for me!

Authentic French Meringues

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2010
These turned out quite well. It was the first time I had made these so I wish there had been more instruction on how big to make them, though. Some of mine cracked, but I think I did not whip them long enough before piping. I think that must have been what i did wrong, because I used a swirl tip and they came out smooth. Those little guys are addictive, though! :)

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2010
This got a four because I did decrease the sugar. I feel like it was perfect with about 3 teaspoons per loaf. It came out of the oven about an hour ago and my husband and I have pretty much devoured it!! I have never made any bread beside banana or zucchini. I was nervous but it is SOOO yummy! I never want to buy bread again! Now I just need one of those bread containers for the countertop!! :)

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2010
It was pretty darn good! I wish it would have browned better on the outside, though. I used a pizza stone and cooked it for about 25 minutes, and it still wouldn't brown! he dough was easy to make, though, and very yummy! I added some spices to it to kick up the flavor, but that's it. I will def use again!

Peanut Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2010
I'm only giving it 3 stars because 4 cups of sugar would have been WAY too much! I used 2 cups, s did most reviewers, and it turned out wonderfully! There was enough sugar to give it good form, but not too much to lose the peanut butter flavor.

Chocolate Cupcakes

Good flavor, just a little dry and dense. I followed the instructions perfectly, so perhaps this is just the way of the cake, or some of my ingredients weren't fresh enough. Still, wonderful flavor and go great with peanut butter frosting!!!

Easy Cream Cheese Danish

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2010
Four stars only because if I had made the entire filling (I made only half, per the suggestions), I would have had WAY too much! As it was, I still had about half left. I made minis, and they are so darling and DELICIOUS! I did add an apple cinnamon topping instead of icing, but these little guys could hold their own with nothing on top! I should have made a double batch! I got 32 minis and I am sending them (well, the remaining 27..I couldn't help myself!) with my husband to work for Easter in the morning! I doubt there will be enough, as those military men love nothing more than home-baked goodies! I'm so glad I have extra topping and filling, so I can make more later this week! Wonderful recipe, and so easy! Will DEF make again!!!

Whipped Cream Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2010
So delicious! I did use powdered sugar, so I think that made it hold its shape better. The flavor was fantastic, tasted exactly like a cream cheese frosting but light and less sweet. I was to to pipe this frosting just fine. I piped fast, as the more the bag was in my had, the warmer the frosting got. Refrigerated, the frosting still held. I also put my metal bowl and beaters in the freezer for my whipped cream for about 10 minutes. It really makes a difference to freeze the bowl/beater, and the metal bowls hold their temperature better than a glass or plastic bowl.

Grandma's Moist Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2010
This cake was PERFECT! So light and fluffy, moist and not too sweet. I made cupcakes with this recipe, and they turned out wonderfully! I did sift the flour, so maybe that helped my results. SO much better than a box cake! Everyone raved!

Truck-Stop Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
The BEST pancakes I have ever made! I long for diner pancakes, and have never yet found a recipe or pre-made mix which gives me what I crave! I, also, was lacking buttermilk, so used lemon juice and milk instead. I added a bit of vanilla as well and they were great. It was a little trying to scale it down for 2, but I managed in the end! GREAT RECIPE!

I definitely scaled back the butter, as others said. It was pretty good, the bread was very thick, though.

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

This is my go-to Banana Bread. I have never found a more moist bread, and it makes excellent muffins as well. I do, like most others, mash my bananas instead of slicing them.
