Grandma's Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2010
I made this and a more traditional version (Green Bean Casserole 1) for two options at Thanksgiving. Most people who tried this and commented really liked it. Nobody did not like it that I am aware of. One said they still prefer the traditional version. I followed directions except I only put in 1 cup of cheese and stirred it into casserole (per other reviews), and I stirred most of a square box of fresh sliced mushrooms into the casserole. I also used a whole package of Ritz crackers and 4 tablespoons butter. I thought it was a nice spin on the traditional version, but similar enough that it still satisfies the craving.

Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2011
I let my dog have some of the dough as I made these for him for his 1st birthday. He LOVED the dough and the biscuits. Will definitely make them again. I tried them myself and they taste pretty darn good. :)

Easy Alfredo Sauce I

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2012
I added a small can of mushrooms while still cooking the sauce and at the end leftover steak -- just in there long enough to heat it. It was amazing. I felt like I was eating out in my living room. Something this easy shouldn't taste so good! I will definitely be making this again!

Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2013
I improvised a little with this recipe and it still turned out great. Grocery store was out of celery so I put a little celery seed in it. To be efficient and use all of what I opened, I used a full bag (2 cups) of lentils, a little extra chicken stock (1 box and 1 can), and a little less tomatoes (2 cans; also used diced instead of crushed). I also added smoked roast that we had in the freezer from when our freezer quit and we were trying to preserve the meat. It was a great addition. I just happened to serve this to my husband and some of his fellow farmers on a day the local cafe was closed due to the snow, and they approved. For those of you who know farmers, they tend to enjoy hearty meals. My version turned out heartier than the picture implied, with the chunks of tomatoes and meat.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2013
So good and so easy, with very little hands on time. I did use Bisquick mix to make dumplings instead of refrigerator biscuit dough. This was nearly as quick (hands on; had to cook longer), cheaper, and didn't even have to touch the dough. Very hearty; great on a cold night!
