Stovetop Granola

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2012
This was excellent and very easy. I burned it a little but it was still yummy. I reduced the butter and brown sugar in an attempt to make it healthier but it was a little dry and not as clumpy as I wanted. I will keep experimenting until it's perfect. I used it to make yogurt and berry parfait and they were yummy. I added ground flax seed and pumpkin seeds.

Pat's Baked Beans

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2010
Excellent! I made a vegetarian version of these, omiting the bacon and worcesteshire sauce. I couldn't find the beans listed here, so o I used navy beans and romano beans. It was super delicious! I served them with coleslaw and cornbread. Yummy!

Apple Turnovers

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
These are absolutely amazing! The only thing was that the puff pastry was a little hard to work with. But so delicious. I think I ate 7 of them in 2 days! Yum!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
This is the easiest and best pot roast ever. I don't know why people are making so many changes. You don't need them. Follow the recipe exactly (I don't recommend cooking with vegetables) and you won't be disappointed. If you're like me and you have problems getting gravy to thicken, this recipe will be your best friend because the gravy is made for you, no fuss. I don't even eat meat anymore, but I remember this recipe fondly.

Campbell's Kitchen Broccoli and Cheese Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
I was looking for a broccoli noodle casserole, and I didn't find what I wanted, so I used this recipe as a base and added some noodles and other vegetables (steamed carrots, sliced mushrooms, red onion). I made the sauce exactly as written, though I reserved about 1/3 of the cheese to sprinkle on top, and I put the bread crumbs (actually croutons that I put through the food processor) on top of that. It was delicious- even better than I expected. Don't omit the mustard- it adds a nice flavour without being recognizable as mustard. Great recipe, whether you use it as written or as a starting point like I did.

Morning Glory Muffins I

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
These muffins are fabulous! I did make some small changes, to be fair to the recipe. I used 1 cup of applesauce instead of the vegetable oil and apple butter. I used some brown sugar and some white sugar. I also used white flour only (because that's all I had). I also added sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds to the batter, and I sprinkled sunflower seeds on the top with the walnuts (I didn't use wheat germ). These muffins seem like they can be altered quite a bit without losing their deliciousness. I do have a sweet tooth, so while they were perfect for me, they would still be delicious with less sugar. Yummy!

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
This is some of the best apple crisp I've ever had! The only modifications I made was to coat the apples with the sugar mixture instead of sprinkling it on top and I used margarine instead of butter. I've also experimented a bit with the water. The first time I made it, I tried 1/4 cup based on the reviews on here. It was quite watery, but still delicious and it didn't ruin it or anything. This time I only added 1/8 cup, and it was still too runny. Next time, I'll just omit the water. Absolutely fabulous recipe- I used Granny Smith apples and they worked perfectly. Delicious!

Portobello Mushroom Stroganoff

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
As a new vegetarian, I'm always on the lookout for tasty dishes like this one. I followed the recipe to the letter, with one exception- I didn't add parsley. It was very rich and tasty- I didn't miss the beef at all. Next time, I will probably cut back on the sour cream- it was just a little bit too rich for me. Delicious nonetheless!
