I am just a girl who loves to cook and bake. When I have free time or am bored I look up recipes to cook later. My roommates love me since they always get to eat/try my new concoctions.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake for people, especially cheesecakes. I bake many different cookies, cakes, pies, breads, coffeecakes, and cheesecakes. I am a pretty busy person so I love to learn new recipes that are good, healthy and quick. I have been trying to grill more often and when I do grill it is usually salmon or steak, vegetables and fruits. I love to also make different pasta recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love quite a lot of my mom's recipes. When ever I get home she always asks me what I want her to make. I have tried to duplicate a few of them, but they are just never done quite right without mom's touch.
My cooking triumphs
The white chocolate raspberry cheesecake was my first cheesecake that I tried to make. It turned out pretty amazing and ever since then I have been hooked on making many different cheesecakes.

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler
Did it just as the recipe called. I did have to bake it for about 5 - 10 minutes longer because the crust wasn't done. It is best to have a thin layer of the crust over the whole pan in order for it to finish baking on time. There ends up being a lot of liquid in the pan. I think it will thicken in the fridge over night if there is any leftover, but I would also say to add more cornstarch to the peaches if you like a thicker sauce.

Incredibly Cheesy Turkey Meatloaf
I followed mostly. I used shreaded cheese instead of cubed. I also added some brown sugar to the ketchup topping. It does make it a tad sweeter, but with the turkey I dont know if it really needs that sweetness.

Creamy Potato Leek Soup II
I used skim milk instead of the heavy cream to make it healthier and then used a little cornstarch and water mixture to make it thicker. Overall though it is a very tasty recipe. I wish that I added more salt and pepper. I really didn't add any during cooking and waited for individuals to add their own.
