About this Cook
Born and raised on Long Island, lived in Alaska for 5 years and now living in Missouri in the Ozarks.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! Cooking not so much, I just dont have the imagination that goes with it. I'm always looking for authentic traditional Italian recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Remembering all my Great Aunt's in the kitchen during the holidays cooking and baking and the house smelling wonderful! All their traditional Italian treats......................I can still remember like it was yesterday how good they were.
My cooking triumphs
Always getting requests for my bread's on my TDF list (to die for). Gee, can you consider bread pudding a triumph?
My cooking tragedies
I stay pretty safe when it comes to cooking and stick mostly to the recipe unless it's nearly foolproof. Like I said, no imagination.

Szechwan Shrimp
This was absolutely delicious! I doubled the recipe for the sauce like others advised. I added thinly sliced red, green, yellow peppers and red onion. I served this over couscous but would be great with sticky rice. I would definately make this again, my husband was quite impressed!!

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust
My husband and I really enjoyed the pizza. I will add an addtl 1/4 c. bread flour next time as the dough was very sticky. The middle of the dough was still soft after baking it with all the toppings so I would recommend to do a short prebake or lower the temp of the oven. The cheese was getting a bit dark so I pulled it out of the oven. I will definately use this recipe again...........still better than any pizza I've come across in this part of the country and as a New Yorker, I grew up on good pizza!!

Crustless Spinach Quiche
I'm so happy I found this recipe! I'm low-carbing and this is perfect for me. The variations are endless. I use about 3/4 cup of ricotta cheese and thin it out with a little cream. I add the spinach right into the cheese/egg mixture and skip adding it to the pan. I love the addition of the sauteed onions and I also saute mushrooms and add them in as well. Thanks for the great recipe!!!
