Cheesy Vegetable Lasagna

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2010
This is a good recipe-love this! I took advice from many other reviews: in particular, 1. heavily season the veggies to your liking. 2. The cream sauce (flour, milk and parmesan) I definitely added butter and seasoning. I skipped the zucchini, though next time I probably will add it, to make it heartier. 3. I over food-processed the veggies, too dicey for my liking. 4. I also added a layer of tomato slices-goes really well with this dish, takes some of the cheese edge off. 5. For some reason, I only needed 8 noodles: my pan allowed for 2 complete layers (a smaller but deeper pan, I guess). 6. A note for the sauce: I didn't find it "dry" or not enough like many noted. In fact, I used 2 cups of milk vs 3 and was fine. I may actually use less because the sauce is a little watery for my liking. I bought a can of cream of celery but the recipe wasn't clear whether this shouldve replaced the spinach mixture, so I skipped it. Great recipe, will spruce up next time around.

Asparagus with Sliced Almonds and Parmesan Cheese

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
My guests loved this dish, and so did I. I couldn't find fresh Parmesan so i used regular Parmesan you'd sprinkle on pasta dishes. I'd eat it more often but it really messes up my urine :(

Strawberry Pineapple Chicken Bites

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
I used this dish for my dinner club (aphrodisiac theme) and was excited to make it. My guests liked it, but i wasn't overly impressed-mainly because the sauce and the chicken tasted very separate. I think it could use some more seasoning. i think i bought the wrong "chili sauce." the only chili sauce i saw was for hot dogs, couldnt be that. so i got some chili sauce intended for sandwiches (though i wouldnt put chili on a sandwich). anyway the recipe was easy to follow but like another reviewer mentioned, it makes a lot of sauce. Had i known that i'd use more chicken, or let it thicken up.

American Frittata

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
I agree with HomemakerSuzy-i halved the recipe to serve myself. 2 potatoes was way too much and i too added an extra egg to cover all the ingredients. adding more veggies and seasoning would make this 5-star. I'd also add cheese to the beaten eggs to infuse cheese throughout the frittata-having cheese just on top wasnt enough. I swapped maple-flavored bacon for ham, and then forgot to add the sausage. next time i'll use more meats and veggies, with less potato. a lot less, because i could barely taste the egg.
