Honey Lime Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2012
Yes, these wings are sweet. Yes, they have some lime flavor. But that's about all they have. As another reviewer stated, there's no "zing" to them. I felt I'd spent too much time on these to have them turn out so uninspiring.

Turkey and Quinoa Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
I substituted ketchup for tomato paste (didn't have any on hand) and added a tbsp of barbeque sauce per another recommendation. Definitely one of the best meatloaf recipes I've found. Everyone (including two small kids) thought it was great!

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2011
Proof that good teriyaki can also be easy! I used 5 thighs with 1/4 cup brown sugar instead of white (some may want more if they like it sweeter), low-sodium soy sauce. Cooked at 375 for 30 minutes, then lowered to 325 for 30 minutes. Basted twice every 15 minutes for the first half hour, then just poured on the rest and let it ride. I'll use bonless skinless breasts next time since the thighs were a bit oily for my taste, but the sauce is a keeper! Thanks!

I was really looking forward to these, but they turned out just OK.

Guam Fried Rice

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
Made the recipe as written except we only used 3/4 lb of bacon (since it's hard to find actual full pound packages of bacon anymore) and 5 cups of rice. Still, while the flavor was OK, this is by far the oiliest fried rice I've ever had. Next time I'll probably drain the bacon grease (!) and use a bit of canola or peanut oil instead.

Pasta Pomodoro

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2011
I followed many of RedVinoGirl's suggestions, using 2.5 large shallots, 8 cloves of garlic, .5 cop white wine, 3T balsamic vinegar. I did use the roma tomatoes per the original recipe. I have to say, it's not often that I enjoy my own cooking but this was excellent! We'll definitely have this again. Thanks for sharing!

Argentine Lentil Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2010
Pretty good when we started eating it, but the sweetness got to be too much after a while.

Vegetable Curry

Quite bland; it's missing many of the components of traditional Aloo Gobi (Indian Potato and Cauliflower dish.)

Chocolate Frosting I

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2009
I'm not usually a big frosting fan, but this stuff is like crack for chocolate lovers! As some other reviewers have done, we added a splash of vanilla and used this on a chocolate cake. Talk about chocolate ecstasy! I think I told my wife at least 3 times that I could never eat store-bought chocolate icing again.

Chicago-Style Pan Pizza

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2009
Excellent recipe! Even though I am not able to get the dough to stay pressed up along the sides of the baking dish, it comes out splendidly anyway, so if you have a similar problem, don't worry. Variations I have tried: add a layer of turkey pepperoni with the sausage, and add chopped spinach and green pepper to the tomato mixture.
