London Broil II

Reviewed: May 17, 2014
Okay, I have to admit, I was skeptical. The marinade seemed very salty when I put it together, and I'm not big on salty. But OMG is this good! I seared the meat on both sides for 6 minutes to get my grill lines, then in the oven at 300 for 30 minutes. My roast was very thick, 3-4 inches, so a low temp slow cook greatly helped keep it moist. Thanks a bunch for this.

Okay. I just made these. I used grape preserves because it's what I had. They are simply amazing! I need to make the a little smaller next time, but they still taste wonderful. Thank you for the recipe.

Deep-Dish Cast Iron Pizza

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2013
I have a "Pizza Maker", which is basically a deep dish pizza pan with a heating element. You put everything together in it and close the lid and it bakes the pizza. I have been looking for a dough recipe that made the right amount, since most make too much. This was it. It came out amazing. I took it from the pizza maker and stuck it under the broiler for a few mins to brown the cheese and it was perfect. Thanks!

Perfect Sesame Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2013
Just made this for the first time. I didn't have any chicken, so I used a cubed pork chop. The coating was amazing, and the sauce was truly delicious. The name suits this one. Great job!

Hasty Chocolate Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2013
I wasn't in a hurry, so I did it the old fashioned way, on the stove. I did add salt and butter as some others have. I think next time I'll halve the vanilla as well. But overall, this is a great way to make pudding when you don't want to use up a dozen eggs for it. Thanks for the recipe. It came out great.

Gingered Pepper Steak

Sauce tastes perfectly like I've always had out. I did have to halve the cornstarch to keep it from being pudding, but otherwise it was amazing.

Arkansas Green Beans

Simply amazing. Used fresh, steamed, beans. I also used the amounts given. The sweet from the brown sugar completely balances the salt from the soy sauce. It was perfect. Thanks so much.

Grilled Lamb with Brown Sugar Glaze

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2012
I substituted marjoram for the tarragon because I didn't have any. I cooked them 5 mins on a side in a cast iron skillet with grilling ridges. They are simply amazing! Thanks so much for such a great, yet simple recipe.

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2012
This is the first crust I have ever tried to make. Mom always led me to believe they were too much trouble. With things the way they are, I can't buy one, so I gave it a try. Used it in a chocolate cream pie. Not only was it fairly simple to make, it came out amazing. Crisp, flakey, delicious! Thanks!

Unbaked Meringue

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2012
Just made this to top a chocolate cream pie. My first all home made pie. Made a crust from here, which came out amazingly light and flakey, made chocolate filling from here, came out wonderfully smooth and yummy. And this meringue to top it off. It came out fluffy but firm and just sweet enough to compliment the chocolate. Thank you! PS - if it isn't peaking, keep whipping, it'll get there!
