About this Cook
Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, where everyone loves seafood.. everyone but me, though I do enjoy some steamed crabs or shrimp now and then. I am a newlywed, married September 17, 2011 to my best friend. We love food almost as much as we love eachother!(LOL)
My favorite things to cook
I just love cooking in general! I love trying new things, but I also enjoy simple comfort foods. My favorite thing to cook would probably be Chicken Bryan from Carrabba's. Its a grilled chicken breast topped with goat cheese and sundried tomatoes in a garlic butter sauce. I serve it with angel hair pasta.. Mmmmmmmm
My favorite family cooking traditions
I really don't have any secret family recipes in my family. My dad was the cook when I was growing up, so I got a lot of my skills from watching him. Then when I was old enough and I would cook, he would watch me and correct me on a constant. It was annoying at the time, but now I am glad for his help!
My cooking triumphs
Pancakes. I know it may sound silly, but I could never get pancakes right. They were always flat and rubbery. My dad didn't cook them, and my mother was just as bad as I was. So I just avoided making them. Until one day I decided to attempt them again for my husband. The key is to not overmix the batter and to make sure your pan is nice and hot. I have been making pancakes perfect ever since! :)

Southern Candied Sweet Potatoes
WOW! These were great and yummy! Though they take an hour to cook, it's so easy to make, and soo worth it! The husband never wants sweet potatoes cooked any other way. He is hooked!
