A Good Easy Garlic Chicken

This chicken was pretty bland -- and not in an, Oh, how refreshing to have some chicken that isn't super spicy! kind of way. It was just...bland. I'm generous with my seasonings, so I know it wasn't that. I even made the gravy by deglazing the pan that some of the previous reviewers mentioned, but that was bland as well. While I didn't have to run out and buy a pizza, it won't be going in the regular rotation.

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

I tried about five cinnamon roll recipes before landing on this one, which is PERFECTION. I've tried Pioneer Woman's recipe, Alton Brown's overnight recipe, a recipe I got from Sunset magazine, and a few others. Finally I went in search of the perfect recipe. Pioneer Woman's recipe took too long, Alton Brown's recipe was too eggy, and the Sunset recipe had no eggs and I thought the cinnamon rolls didn't have enough flavor. These are perfect, but I think they're even better if you make them the night before and stick them in the fridge. Some of the sugar crystallizes and it's delicious. You just need to pull them out about 30 minutes before baking them. Also, adding a cream cheese glaze/frosting is a must. I use 2.5 oz cream cheese, 3 TBS milk, and 1.5 cups of powdered sugar. Mix it up with a mixer (I use my hand mixer), pour on top of the cinnamon rolls when you pull 'em out of the oven, and don't expect to have any cinnamon rolls left, even if you're all by yourself.

Baked Potato Soup

This soup was so delicious that even though I doubled it and only my husband and I were eating it, we ate the leftovers for 6 various meals, be they lunch or dinner. My husband doesn't normally like leftovers, so this was huge! One thing I did differently was becuase my husband doesn't like onions, I used half of an onion and some potatoes and pureed them together, then added them to the soup. I think pureeing some potatoes in the soup adds a little density to the soup that is otherwise lacking.
