Master Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2011
My son asked for pineapple pizza for his eighteenth birthday. Thought I'd splurge and buy a Baboli (sp) but saw this and thought I'd give it a try. For some reason I've got a fear of yeast! Anyway... (I go for the throw it all together recipes usually) it was great! All my men raved. This added to our great day except I started crying when I realized we probably won't be together next year on Jonny's bdy. he'll be in college... oops there go the tears again. Thanks for an easy, great recipe.

Kidney Beans and Corn

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2010
Hi There, This recipe has become a staple in our home. I've made copies and handed it out to "The girls" at Thursday breakfast. Minor adjustments: lots more garlic, red pepper instead of green, more cumin, usually add a can of creamed corn and sometimes I'll add chick peas. This recipe is easy, inexpensive and makes for great leftovers. Serving this with a tasty grain makes for a meal with a "Complete protein". As being a new family of vegetarians, this is a great fallback recipe which we all enjoy. Even the teenage boys! Thanks again, Jesse

Unbeatable Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2010
Thanks for the corn syrup alternative. I always made pecan pie (at holidays) for my husband because he needed it for memories' sake. But the thought of all that corn syrup made me sick just to imagine eating it. This recipe seemed so healthy; to use natural ingredients and no shortening to boot! This is not a low fat dessert though. But If you've got to have pecan pie on the menu; this is the one to go with.

Bavarian Apple Torte

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2009
Hi There, Thanks for this recipe. It was nice to be able to use the apples from the tree in our yard. The kids loved that aspect. A few changes: When sugar was called for I used half of what is in the recipe. I only had one package of creamed cheese but I did have a package of if (I think it's called) Neufamulch cheese. Well, anyway it has the same texture as creamed cheese and the torte had a little Italian flair to it. Next time I will use this cheese as well. I reserved a handful of perfect looking slices to make a swirl pattern on the top and the rest I roughly chopped up and pressed into the filling. My husband loved the idea of using a spring form pan; neat slices!! This one is a keeper!!!

Clark's Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2009
Thanks Clark! Made this last night and we all enjoyed, my husband said "excellent)! My boys are vegetarians and don't much care for mushrooms so I left them out. I didn't have any spinach but I did have asparagus. I had just bought some frozen puff pastry sheets and decided to try that for the shell.(I pre-baked the crust for about ten minutes.) This recipe is a keeper!!!
