I wanted to be a chef when I was in my teens, until my mom wanted me to make supper every day and I decided to pursue other things. Then came a cooking dry spell. That is, until I was laid off, learned about the food channel and decided I could use cooking as therapy. So far, it's working.
Born in Boston, raised in Mexico. This woman sure enjoys the shopping part of cooking.
My favorite things to cook
Pasta, salads, brownies, soup, simple things like hamburgers and appetizers, crockpot yummies and veggies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My stepmom taught me how to make a delicious taco dip and she has also given me the secret recipe for a delicious onion dip, so far, I've only eaten that. I think it's better not to make something so addictive, because then the ingredients will haunt me.
My cooking triumphs
My butternut squash soup was a super hit! I also loved the tiramisu I just made a few weeks ago.
My cooking tragedies
Last night: baked figs and ham croquettes. So wrong.
