Best Ever Muffins

Reviewed: May 28, 2008
Have made thhese twice; once with blueberres and once with strawberries. The strawberries were exceptionally good, and made wounderful muffins. My bf doesn't like most fruit aside from strawberries. He thought there were too many blueberries in in the muffins. Come to think of it, he still ate 1/2 of them. Can hardly wait until Peach seashon!

This is ok. We think Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinigar and Garlic" (from this site) is way better.

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2008
I life it, but bo thought the chicken was dry. I made it in the crockpot as someone else suggesed, so not quite sure dry is what he ment. Did not add bacon as diet restrictiona son't allow it. Cut back on terriaki saucce as I only had 1/3 C, and matched it with Ranch dreswswing. I thought it was good, but I like anything that reqauires little time in the kitchen.

Apple Turnovers

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
The filling is very good, very easy to make. I had a problems with the pastry. I use Peperideg Farm puff pastry and it burned and stuck to the pan. I had planned to take them to a church function, and they looked so bad that I couldn't. I suppose that my oven runs hot, but I don't know why they stuck to the pan.

Soul Smothered Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
It was better the 2nd day. I didn't think it was worth all the time that went into it. My significant other thpight it was great, and he doesn't like to try anything new. The first day the sauce reminded me of chicken gumbo soup, but it did thicken up the mext day. It took forever for the vegetables to cook, and I chopped them up small, so pre-cook the carrots before you add them or be prepared to stand there for 2 or 3 days. If I'm begged, I'll make again, but I won't volunteer

Basic Chicken Stock

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2007
It is cheaper to buy a low sodium stock than to make this. The instructions to clearify the stock are great, but that is the highest praise I can give it. After it had simmered for an hour it still tasted like salt water, so I let it sinner for 2.5 hours. The stock cooked down, but it wasn't very flavorful. I won't waste my tine with it again.

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2007
This is so very good and so very simple it should be outlawed! I was told that I outdid myself with this as my main course. I will make it anytime I need to look like I'm a better cook than I really am!

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2007
These were wounderful! Having burnt the grilled vegetables last week, my significant other was convinced I couldn't boil water. This recipe has redeemed me! Thank you! I was told that I out-did myself!

Mushroom Rice

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2007
I liked it. I have to restrict sodium, phosphorus, and potassium. Which means that my diet is very limited. I like rice, but I was never a big fan. Now, I'm learning to like it. This isn't potatoes, but it is good.

Rump Roast Au Jus

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2007
My boyfriend liked it. I think there is too much cayenne pepper in it. I can't add sodium to anything, so I thought all the spices would be a good thing. Too much cayenne and I don't like the smell of the mustard. If I make it again, I will change the amounts of the spices.

Breakfast Muffins

I think these are great! I had to cut the salt because I'm on a low sodium diet, and they were still good! I did add vanilla. I made then with peaches and strawberries. Next week, blackberries!

Black Walnut Cake II

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2004
I love to bake, and this was a fun recipe to make! I made cupcakes, because I wanted to give cake to several people. Baked for 21-22 mins. I used a buttercream frosting, with black maple flavoring instead of vanilla. My boyfriend, who hates sweets, ate 3 before dinner. My mother, and harshest critic, loved them. Will again and again.

Irish Soda Bread V

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2004
It tastes good, but I like another soda bread recipe better. I don't know if I did something wrong, or if the dough was supposed to be so sticky. Might want to add a little extra flour.

Easy Oatmeal Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2003
These were good, but not geat. The 1st batch I made were kind of bland, so I added raisens and cinnimon to the next batch. The 2nd batch was much better. I will probably make again because there are so few carbs. and they are so easy to make.

Banana Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2003
I let the bananas get very ripe to make sure they had a strong banana flavor. Great banana flavor fresh from the oven. Over night they turned into bran muffins - not a hint of banana flavor. They were good, but I really wanted banana muffins.

Irish Brown Soda Bread

Reviewed: May 28, 2003
I'd never had soda bread before, but I loved this. I screwed up and had to double the recipe, so I had a lot of bread! But we ate every bite. Before he tasted it my boy friend said they looked like little rocks, but he ate 1 loaf for his dinner!
