Simply delicious, moist, and tasty given so few ingredients. We lived in Hawaii and enjoyed so much of the delicious local fare and truly this recipe is nearly exactly as I remember Kalua Pig. This recipe is meant to be very tasty with a smoky flavor. I used Alea Hawaiian sea salt and the liquid smoke exactly as stated in the recipe. My pork was done in the crock pot on low at 10 hours. I easily shredded the pork with a fork and poured the drippings over the finished product. Just yummy! Even my five year old boys loved this! I will be serving this with the Chicken Long Rice and Chocolate Haupia Pie recipes featured on this site. If only I had Lomilomi salmon and pipikaula! Mahalo for posting this wonderful recipe!! I will definitely be making this one again!
