Coconut Cream Pound Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
This is an amazing pound cake!! So easy to make and it was moist and the flavour incredible. I did make the mistake when halving the recipe, I put in the full package of cream cheese. Frankly it made no difference. (Thank goodness!) Tasty and incredible, a must try for anyone.

Chicken Lasagna Alfredo

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2010
This is an exceptional recipe!! It was easy to make, and you can modify it to suit your taste. I followed the recipe with a few changes: I used 2 cloves minced garlic with the chicken/Alfredo mixture, and made it ahead of time and let it sit in the fridge and get all garlicky and happy! Like the other review I also sprinkled about 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese between the layers. Also, instead of cooking up an entire package of lasagna noodles I used 4 per layer (12). I did use a 9x13 glass baking pan, and found that 35mins at 350F was enough to heat it through and melt the mozzarella, with a crispy brown edge! Yummo!!! This is a must try, you'll love it.

Black Magic Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2010
This is an excellent Cake! So moist, and delicious. I made it in a bundt pan and 35mins later it was perfect. The taste is so rich and incredible, not overly sweet and the coffee makes it that much better. Will be making again!

German Red Cabbage

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
Made this the other evening to go with our supper as a vegetable dish...This is the best German cabbage dish I have ever come across. Nothing needs to be adding or changed it is tasty, and fabulous just how it is. Will be making this over and over again! Thanks for the great recipe.

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2010
These are fantastic!! and a must try! The recipe is perfect and didn't change a thing. With that said, I did follow the comment from another review that suggested after dipping the pretzel in the hot water/baking soda bath to place the pretzel on paper towel to take off the excess water. Also I did lower my oven temp. to 400F. At 400F, 8mins in the oven was sufficient. I found these 2 minor changes helpful, and my pretzel's slide right off the baking sheet. Will be making these again, and again!!

Spicy Refrigerator Dill Pickles

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
Very good pickle recipe. Was hesitant to try a dill pickle with sugar in the brine, but was very happy at the outcome. Pickles were crisp, flavourful, and delicious. Will be making this one again when the cucumbers are ready in the garden.

Kickin' Collard Greens

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2010
I have made in the past Greens for my Southern husband. They were horrible!!! This is a terrific recipe and the Greens were so delicious that the following week we went to the Farmers Market and got more Greens for me to cook. The only change that I did make was I used far more bacon, a 12oz package to be exact, I also adding 1 tbsp of Brown Sugar that I incorporated from another recipe that I had looked over and the last change I made was adding 1/4 C of Apple cider vinegar. The Brown Sugar sounded a bit strange, but it really made a difference to the fresh Kale I used. Great recipe.

The Best Chicken Fried Steak

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2010
Not being Southern, I had to search for a Chicken Fried Steak recipe, and this one is fantastic. This satisfied my Southern husband immensely. It was easy to make, delicious, crisp and came of wonderfully for my first time Fried Steak experience. I didn't make any real changes to the recipe, I believe I doubled the flour part, as I did have more then 1/2 lb of cube steak. I did fry mine in canola oil, as that is what I prefer. I recommend this recipe to everyone. Fabulous.
