I've been baking and cooking all of my life. My earliest memories are of helping out my Mom and Grandma in the kitchen. That being said, when I got married last year I found out that I had a LOT to learn about keeping my husband happy, healthy, and well fed.
My favorite things to cook
Casseroles and things in the slow cooker. I prefer to bake as much as I can.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family traditionally makes thousands of cookies over the month of December. We use them as gifts. It doesn't feel like the holidays until the oven is preheating :)
My cooking triumphs
Anytime my husband volunteers that something is good and that he'd like to eat it again.
My cooking tragedies
oh too many to count. There's a chicken stew that I tried to take to a pot luck at church. It's gone down in history as "Chicken Moosh on a plate" and it was GRAY!
One time I blew up a ceramic mug on the stove by accident.
Another time I preheated the oven not knowing there was bread rising in a plastic bowl. The bread ROSE and the bowl melted.
My siblings and I tried making home made taffy and melted the stirring spoon into the candy. We stirred and stirred and then realized the spoon was shrinking.
