Portobello Mushroom Stroganoff

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
The sauce as written is wonderful. I used regular button mushrooms and when removing the mushrooms and onions to make sauce, I microwaved 24 1/2 oz ready made meatballs, then returned all to sauce as directed to heat together. Great meal! BevKn

Crispy Fish Fillets

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
It is the method, not kind of fish. First time I did this with flounder which were very thin fillets; second time, Swai which is thicker. Delicious both times, just the time had to be adjusted.

New England Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
Made this last night for two of us to go with a sandwich. Next time I would decrease flour to 1/4 c and increase salt and did add garlic pepper. Because there is so much left and I have button mushrooms on hand, I will slice and add for the next servings.

Roasted Veggie Platter

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2008
Easy and Delicious. I blanched the green beans for 2 minutes and quickly cooled in cold water. All ingredients into an aluminum foil pan and seasoned exactly as written and put on the grill covered, stir a couple times. I did on grill because I had an eye of beef roast in oven.

Wine Soaked Mushrooms

I halved this recipe for two with 8oz mushrooms, but 1/2 of everything else. Because the liquid was 1/2 it cooked down quickly. Very delicious with our McCormick Montreal seasoning!

Basic Crepes

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2007
In the 60's, I used my best crepe recipe for appetizers and petite desserts, which was 1/2 c flour, 1/2 c milk and 2 egg yolks to make 12 5-6 inch crepes. Wanting to make 8" crepes for a fruit dessert and not use 8 yolks, I used this recipe doubled rather than quading my tried recipe. Other reviews - too thick, too thin....I find this perfect. I doubled to 2 C flour, 1 1/2 c 2% milk + 1/2 c water, everything else the same. PERFECT. Made 10 8" crepes. Now this is my keeper!

Awesome Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2005
Marinating in buttermilk for 24 hours is the tender, flavorable secret. I drained then shook a couple pieces at a time in 1 cup Bisquick, added 1/2 Tbsp Paprika, 2 t salt and 1/2 t pepper. Instead of frying, try oven at 425*. In 13x9 baking dish spray with PAM heavy, put chunks of unsalted butter and put empty dish into oven until melted. Remove and put in pieces, bake 25 min - turn and bake 25 min more. Delicious!
